I don't care if Charles was merely the opener for da Foo Foo's at the Beacon. Whenever someone of his stature opens a show, the REPUTABLE reviewers give it a paragraph, at least. (Especially when the whole review was TEN LONG paras (no shit!) Charles got TWO sentences, and the dickhead seemed like he didn't even know who the legend was! Oooooooh, the New York Times! Ohhhhhhhh!
Best part: the "reviewer's" name reminds of a title of one of Charles' songs. Hmmm....his name is Ben Ratliff.

I read the review and, although a bit matter-of-fact, it doesn't seem that bad to me.

| in terms of concert reviews this might have been short on FB because editors cut stuff out. also some reviewers don't even show up for the opening act a lot of times and don't review them. so maybe he got there late. not trying to make excuses but... |

It wasn't a negative FB review - FB was merely the opening act - he got an opener's ammount of coverage.
Too bad the author failed to mention how utterly boring the FF set was...
