considering fmrm is such a huge record, with greatness, beauty, and genius sprinkled all over, i don't feel bad about dedicating a whole thread to wanderlust.
this song rules! the splashy drums, the twinkling piano, the smooth organ, the laid back, surf-like guitar solos, that GREAT violin... and on top of that a great melody delivered flawlessly by the man himself. i love it.
a true gem. i'll also take this time to give kudos to these: fast man, you can't crucify yourself, seven days, golden shore, don't cry that way, and fare thee well.
i seriously can't get sick of this album, it gets better and better.

Dear Jose,
Violin?
Otherwise, I'm there.
Hey, is your father a fireman? Do you have a twin brother Hose B?

Nice one. I'm a bit reluctant to give you the 'ol "end-of-joke snare-snare kick n splash" drum hit, Jon. Purely out of fear some one might criticize it's sound or performance. Ha!
What's going on in Tivenland lately? |

This is a great and underappreciated song. I could see this one becoming a classic...

Sounds like a pretty solid week/weekend. Have you, or are you gonna catch any Frank? |

Dude, that's no violin, that's me on slide guitar.
I play sax, but no violins, please. (Sex & violence reference)

Stuck disc 1 of FMRM on this evening while shaving, I'm warming to it a bit more. This is one of the best songs...there's something slightly wacky about the little slide/sax parts that I like!!

I like Wanderlust, it's one of the many FMRM songs that i initially passed over on a first listen, but now i find my self coming back to it again and again. It’s one of those songs

Me too, tho I didn't know it at the time. In retrospect I saw, or at least claimed, it as a modern day Speedy. I have a feelin' it's gonna stand, or, even more, I look forward to learnin' that's true.

Yep, definitely the song that stands out on disc 1 to me. Plus it's easy and cool to play at the guitar.

I like the song, it's not one of my favorites though.

It was also my favorite upon first listen. Can't shake the image of an old dude in a dusty western saloon bouncing all over those keys. -FranknWeezer |
