Sold out show at Birdy's tonight in Indy. There were a few folks waiting around the parking lot for tix. The place is said to hold around 400. Frank started fairly early. He was wearing a white oxford shirt, khakis with a belt, and half-rimmed glasses-- almost out of an old Gap commercial! He said he went to the mall today. Someone in the crowd said they saw him at the Fashion Mall.
His voice was excellent, and the sound system at Birdy's did not disappoint. Highlights for me: Slow version of Sir Rockabye, Billy Radcliffe, Holiday Song, Horrible Day (btw, he said that it was someone from the Forum that suggested he change the lyric from "trade in my VCR . . ." to "trade in my DVD . . ." and I don't think he agreed with the suggestion!, Goodbye Lorraine, Mr. Grieves, California Bound was amazing, I Burn Today, Old Black Dawning was my favorite of the night (I just noticed how similar that song is to the one on the new CD, "It's Just Not Your Momoent-- similar chord progression), and Abstract Plain. He played a good helping of his first solo cd and TOTY.
Anyway, the crowd was really into it. Most everyone listening without screaming out a bunch of stupid stuff. The only improvement I could've asked for would have been an encore. We've been lucky in Indy recently-- Frank Black this year, the Pixies last year, and Frank Black two years ago!
After the show, I think Frank was in some huge RV. It was parked in in the lot for the funeral home across the street. |

Sounds amazing. It's lovely to know that he can just chop and change the setlist every night. |

Hahaha, yeah I remember someone saying that. Who was it is the question.
As for Bluray or HD-DVD, I sure hope not. Both of those standards suck the big one and I won't be buying into it anytime soon. If I had to pick, though... HD-DVD doesn't have Sony's fingerprints all over it.

Hooray for stymie. Would you consider sharing a lossless version too?
Anyway, I look forward to this. Thanks.

Actually he was.
There was some slight feed back and he said "If I would have done a sound check this would not have happened, so lets hear it for the sound man that I don't even know, he doing a great job!"

Yeah, he was giving props to the soundman since he did no sound check because he was at the mall. |

What do you want edbanky? A dat version? I will figure out how to post this show or pass it along to someelse who can. Only problem is the levels were recorded a little low as to not distort. Otherwise everthing else is fine. Maybe i should raid my closet for all the other shows i've done over the years? |

stymie - i'd also love a lossless copy of this - bittorrent is the obvious suggestion for mass circulation. and also, pretty please go on that raid for your other shows! that would be absolutely fantastic!!
what others might there be????
all i can say, thank god for polio! brian |

I'll figure it out in a day or two. The show has been downloaded to the net and the levels raised. Just a few more days. |

They only show up once I've processed and approved them (otherwise think of the mess we could get in). If you upload some, leave a post in this thread:
http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16787
or drop me an email, then I can get to work. It doesn't matter if there's not too many, your photos above are very good, and it's the capturing of the moment that's important. Then the rest of us can enjoy them and/or see what we're missing.

Sorry. Can't tell if you're being sarcastic. But yeah, raid your closet if you wanna. Wouldn't hurt our ears any.
Thanks.
