Has anyone else heard of this band? They're from Montreal. They don't seem very popular for some reason, at least not in America. I just recently bought "No Cities Left" and think it's great. Anyway, their new album Gang Of Losers is coming out this year. Not sure when.

Yeah, No Cities Left is good. I saw them here about three years ago and Mr. Lightburn jumped off the stage and thrust the microphone/his face in mine and it was about the most awkward moment of my life.
End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story and Nor the Dahlias are worth checking out.
Anyway, lots of good stuff from them. Not sure why they're not more popular down there, but they're quite established here.

Nor The Dahlias? For some reason that's not in their discography, but I think I've heard of it. Is it an LP? I thought they only had 2 (3 counting GOL)?

Oh, just found it on Amazon. I still wonder why it's not in their disography...

It's kind of lo-fi compared to the others, might be that they aren't counting it as an official release. But there are some interesting tracks on there. Corduroy Boy is probably the one that most reflects where the Dears would go with their music.

I wonder how many other great Canadian bands you don't know about, 'cos there are lots of them.
I was dancing to them just last Saturday actually.

The first single off Gang Of Losers (Ticket to Immortality) was released in the UK last week(?) and they're holding a contest to win a bunch of Dears stuff. Too bad you have to send in a receipt from buying the single.

I've twice seen Murray Lightburn walking down the street and it's the ultimate celebrity-sighting letdown, much as I enjoy their music. He just seems so ... hostile.

Do you know Bell Orchestre? Perhaps they opened for Arcade Fire when you saw them? Anyway, you might wanna give them a listen.

I agree, nothing tops Wolf Parade. Can't wait for their next release. Do you have the Sunset Rubdown stough that Spencer did before Wolf Parade?
I will check out Bell Orchestre, thanks.

They're tour stops in the greatest little city in the prairies in november. Best fall ever for live music? The plot thickens...
Also, someone (ie. Mike1) tell me about Shout Out Out Out and explain why I should go see them.

Good lord, Dean's dollars doth deplete.
I'm not standing right by the stage again, I'll tell you that!

They (EDIT: Shout Out Out Out) will probably be great if you are on pills, but I am not sure they will be appreciated sober. Bands like that are tough to go and watch unless you are really in the mood to dance. They're a little soulless for regular viewing/listening.
Save your money and wait until Love Is All pass through, who can be appreciated in any state. Even dead.

You and Murray really need to reconnect.
And if you had said "Dear deity, ..." it could have been all D's. As it is? Worthless.

Ha! Dear deity. Where were you 22 minutes ago?
If he could've only seen how awkwardly I was attempting to still clap, I'd be IN the Dears by now. And yes, I realize the setup implied by emphasising in but by calling attention to it, have hopefully made it an unattractive target.
