Let's get on with this. Disc 1 Survivor is just a warmup for the much-better Disc 2, anyway. I'm really looking forward to that. Denis, really, flip a coin. If it's heads, Dog Sleep loses; if it's tails, Raider man wins.

Coastline: how can you only have 72 posts?
Due to my present condition and predicaments of being a crippled as a result of the fatal accident that I had, I am not able to carry out this contract because I can only walk on a wheel chair. |

| I'm listening to the record (drunk) for the umpteenth time, and now Raider Man in particular, and just realized that when Frank sings "I chased my cousin" etc the most likely thought would be that the narrator's cousin is another raiderman who just happens to be on the other side of the law at the moment, especially followed by the line about losing his leg etc as in an actual chase. But one of the reasons why I instantly liked the song is that I thought of him chasing his female cousin for completely different reasons and eventually hooking up with her (Lone Star rather than Highway Patrolman). At first it wasn't no big deal, she just sorta accepted (it), but after he lost his legs in an accident she's tried to poison him and this more than anything else makes him wish he hadn't left the Hole. Reading this back I realize just how drunk I am but I'm gonna submit it anyway 'cause I still like that story more than the obvious one. (B.t.w, very impressive economy of language in that song, I think. So few lines but it feels like I just saw a great film.) |
