makes the 2006 Atlantic Storm Names list. I hope she's gentle.

oh and, um, I like this song because it's got a nice beat that makes my head dance around on my shoulders.

Excellent song! It probably rocks the hardest out of anything Frank's done post-Pistolero.

To me, Nadine is quite skippable. Song 7 rocks harder.

Looooove this song! This song and the whole "Odd Balls" compilation got me back into FB after a wee hiatus of 5 years---yes, I know: "Oh the Shame!!!!!!"

The evolution of this song, as Brian and Dean have been showing on the podcasts, is fascinating. But I'm a little disappointed that Frank went with the version he did. The faster, piano-based version rocks a lot more than the Show Me Your Tears version.

The first few times I heard Nadine was on some live Bootlegs and they were the faster versions. I was quite surprised as well when I heard the studio version.

I think I still prefer the uptempo version. I agree with you coastline.

I prefer the album version.
I've worn it off a bit though after so many listenings, when I listen to SMYT I sometimes skip the first track. I'll go back to it eventually.

It was lovely to hear the alternate versions. Love the piano led version; it'd be nice if it were to become available.

Nadine is great as is on SMYT. The buildup is strong and the line "maybe we'll park and I'll drive" is quite evocative. Definitely a keeper.

i know how you feel coastline. I am not trying to nitpick (I know frank was upset about this recently). I love the album versions but personally i preferred the bootleg versions of don't clip your wings (incredible acoustic) and the shrimp song (although i know he wanted to change it to make is his). But fuck it, i love it all.

Anyway, I only am mentioning this so i have something to write beacuse i cant wait to see the man in Wisconsin! I gotta love him for scheduling that show.

This song has been growing on me immensely. It just has "it." I think the album version is the best of the three I've heard since I think it has the right level of darkness/tone. It would be my favorite song on that album if Manitoba wasn't so perfect.

Nadine grows and grows on me. I hit the obsessed stage a couple weeks ago, and can't get enough of that song. It's such a simple song, and I like what Frank said about it -- it's not a song about Nadine, exactly, but a song about her effect on him. At this point, I like the acoustic versions best. But any version is great, because it's designed to worm its way into your brain. There goes Na-dine-dine-dine-dine-dine-dine ...

And the last line is as dirty as anything he's sung since Cactus.

One of my top 3 Frank songs, for sure.

Show me your tears is a killer album overall. I like that part where he sings wicked song after wicked song. And the stuff in between is alright too.. And that openner slays!

My 4-year-old loves "The Creature Crawling," off the "Cult of Ray" album; and my 7-year-old loves "Monkey Gone to Heaven," the Pixies song. I love it when the kids get into Frank. Neither of my boys cares for "Nadine," though. I think they're sick of me playing it.

my kids are used to radio music. you know they think they have to listen to whatever everyone else is listening to. I AM going to break them from the masses and covert them if it is the last thing i do. just call me superhero mom. ok i am retarded. Anyway they don't understand why it doesn't get played on the radio.
