I remember once upon a time when the lyrics to Frank's song HONEYCOMB were cute...this poor bee circling the eaves, searching and failing in his quest to find it's honeycomb.
This weekend, my brother and I were engaged in an off/on two day battle with hornets and their hives which threatened our bodies and sanity...for the nests were located directly above our front door and my bedroom balcony sliding glass door. Now, while not bees, and there is no honey in a hornets nest, I couldn't help but think of the song HONEYCOMB, because after the nest outside my bedroom was knocked down, hornets swarmed in a panic for hours looking for it.
Then it became a horror movie. They actually congregated on my screen door and managed to find their way inside my apartment! These terrible devils were relentless...as if they were on the attack! They knew we killed their children! It was somewhat blood curdling. I had no RAID insecticide, so I settled for aerosol boot protectanct, which would either kill them immediatley, or just enrage them. They were totally horrible.
The ones out front began to congregate outside the front door. As we would open the door to do battle, they would divebomb us in their swift but clumsy way.
Finally by Saturday evening they were gone.
And then Sunday morning they were back...gone was their confusion of their missing nests. Now they were just vengeful. Fuck this. I went to WalMart (which I hate, and am ashamed to have done it, but desperation won over) and bought RAID WASP & HORNET KILLER.
The war is over. I won the battle. But at what cost? Some frazzled nerves, and $3.87 for the RAID. But I swear, these things were cognizant and knew what they were doing...they were planning to take me down!

I know what you mean, and while I'm not afraid if one bee is flying around me, groups of them are scary.
By the way, I read somewhere Madonna said she wrote the song "Music" after going to a Sting show and seeing everyone's reaction when he did old Police songs at the end of the set. |

I love bees but I hate wasps. Hornets I am not sure about.

Horse flies piss me off. I can't go outside during the summer without getting a bite off those wankers.

I got stopped for speeding the other day. The officer leant into the car and asked 'Have you got a Police Record?'
I said 'Yeah, Walking on the moon.'
