isn't capsicum a group of peppers, and not a specific pepper? do you guys really call them capsicums?

No, the Aussies do though.

We just call them red peppers, green peppers etc.

Bacon and avocado or one of my old favourites (and this ventures dangerously into totally wanky topping territory) pear, paprika and pecorino

but most importantly all pizza should have garlic - in my mind this is not a topping but an essential ingredient

avocado is an underrated, secret pizza topping i've been a fan of for a long time. i also like to put hot sauce on my pizza (on top of the jalapenos)

surfer, you never visited my Big Sur thread dedicated to you :(

Pineapple is alright on pizza. Except when it gets all soggy and makes the pizza disgusting.

not so much ventures as prances in, does a twirl and rolls around on the territory for a while.

Yeah, I thought this topic was a rally call to push back all of the fufu (that's for you kitty) pizza toppings. Now just when we were about to storm the beachhead floop is abandoning us by saying avocado is an "underrated, secret pizza topping". I want out.

We tried a anchovey pizza not too long ago just out of curiosity. If it wasn't so goddamn salty it wouldn't be half as bad as it's reputation makes it out to be. Otherwise I'll take just about any kind of pizza except for that pineapple/ham bullshit, I'll never understand that one.

the key with anchovies is to use them sparsely. i used to work at a pizza parlour. i've tried every pizza topping combination you can name and even invented some (that i can't tell you about)..

Pepperoni, Onion and Green Pepper "greasy thin crust" from Gondola Pizza.

Feta. The Greek Pizza from Santa Lucia (St.Mary's at Main) may be the best thing on the planet, what's the mystery sauce though? "This pizza starts out with our Traditional White Greek Sauce instead of our Regular Pizza Sauce. Topped with Feta and Mozzarella Cheeses, Onions, Black Olives, and Tomatoes."

Earl's had pizza (my friend would say "that isn't pizza, where's the cheese?") with avocado and sun-dried tomatoes for a while.

Floop I missed your Big Sur thread. I'm sorry and hang my head in shame. As penance I barbecued some pork short ribs.

And Newo this is a quick little frolic of a roll rather than a long languid one.

Been away sorting stuff out and working too hard. Hoping to be around a bit more again. I've missed you all.

Back on topic - something that is totally weird here in England is the idea of putting sweetcorn and I shit you not, baked beans on a pizza.

Carolynanna that pizza is looking delicious.

How about deep fry it? It's the Scottish way, and not unheard of.

I've never had baked beans on a pizza, that's weird. I don't object to pineapple though.

Out of interest, since this thread was started, how many people have been getting irregular pizza cravings.
I've got one in the oven right now. A pizza that is.

I had my aforementioned sausage, jalapeno & mushroom from Campisis for my lunch. I ate the whole medium pizza in one sitting and literally had moments where I felt high back at work after that.

That's a goooood pizza.

I had two small pizzas last night. They were just plain cheese so I grated some extra cheese on top which contained jalapeno. I didn't even know what jalapeno was until a few weeks ago only to find out that I'd been having it on pizzas for years. I just didn't know the name of it.
