A rim shot is the when the drummer hits the rim of the drum (purposely) instead of the drum's center and intended area. The sound is more of a click than that of a drum or snare sound. Listen to IJNYM and you will hear the drummer play the rim during the verses, then switch to the snare drum during the choruses.

Not to be confused with a rim job. That's totally different.

not to nit pick, but I think a rim shot is when the stick hits the drum head and the rim at the same time and makes a loud popping sound, like a gun "shot." A rim click is just hitting the rim and much softer than even a normal snare drum stroke.

I think he's just hitting normal snare drum strokes during the chorus in constrast to the softer rim clicks during the verses.

As far a rock n' roll drums, maybe, I dunno. My ears could withstand some louder drums. That'd rock.

I think the song's ok.

Dude, your both wrong. It's when somebody tells a bad joke and you get a snare roll followed by a singal hit of a cymbal. Let me illustrate: "I just flew in from Sheboygan and boy are my arms tired." BA-BOOM!

Hi Daisy! Thanks for your kind words. My first gig with Charles was singing the female vocal on Repo Man. But I actually have an ongoing project of my own, called Dunmore, that I'm working on getting out into the word. It sounds nothing like my husband - its new wave -- synths and stuff. That's where my head is at. In fact, I think I've almost convinced our guy to do a new wave e.p. wih me!

thanks for sharing the news about Dunmore. i think i speak for a lot of people here that so many of us would be looking forward to hearing more about your project. please keep us posted about the your band and be sure to pass along any info... especially gig info.

i have to say that it rocks that you have four kids and have a band and help out your hubby on his projects. very cool indeed.
