Yeah mine arrived this morning from play.com Is that illegal or something, sending it out before the release date?
Listening to it now on my brand spanking new headphones, which are of a very high quality. Makes it sound like Frank is whispering in my ear!

Ordered mine through Amazon, which does make me feel a little slimy, but they had it for $15 with no shipping costs (ordered with a Barbara Manning compilation I've covetted for some time). The local where I've collected my FB fresh over the last six years or so recently went out of business, citing sales deferred to online. Anyway, I hope to be listening by the end of week. Sometimes I almost feel like a virgin.

You what?! It's in the shops already?
Maybe I should get a doormat-then maybe FM/RM would magically appear on it the next morning!

€16.99?! And it's only just been released?! I mean, on top of that, for a new release 2CD album...maybe they''re trying to combat online prices. I bought FrankBlackFrancis for that price recently. Crikey. And to think, I was gonna drop into town the other day to have a look around. Thanks, wrenn!

It's one of those red HMV stickers. Red means "urgent buying required for this item". I was really surprised at HMV, they had it out early than other places (saw it in other stores for the first time only yesterday) and it was €3 cheaper than anywhere else.

Hmmm, those red HMV stickers indicate sale price.

They could put it up to €22 (or more) within a week or two. Some double albums in HMV are as dear as €30, comparing them with the prices on their website (which is in sterling) HMV in Ireland tend to round up their prices.

My local record shop got it in the mail today, then promptly called me to tell me it had arrived, and i went and got it. I'm a bit down about the liner notes, but i'm a liner notes snob. I like to know who plays what, when, and where (its just a list of who played what, but not on a track by track basis). I picked it up along w/ the new Sonic Youth and the Kieran Hebden/Steve Reid EXCHANGE SESSION discs.

I called my local cool record shop today and he had no idea it was even on the way, much less out tomorrow, so he's ordered a bunch. I'm happy that I have indirectly contributed to a few sales, but sad that it means I'll have to wait...

I pre-ordered mine three weeks ago at the local shop and they called me today at noon. Still haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Maybe later. |
