From the Futureheads thread...

Eric's Trip (Sonic Youth)

And now that I've started this thread, I'm drawing a blank on any more. Looks like somebody has a case of the "mondays".

There's actually a band where I live called "Hips Like Cinderella". Don't know what they sound like, though.

Godsmack after an Alice in Chains song.

Machinehead after a Deep Purple song (i think - not the same as the Bush song).

Yep, from True Stories. Though it has a space on the album; 'Radio Head'. [/fanboy]

Pretty Girls Make Graves? I'm sure I read they denied it was a Smiths reference. I don't see how they can, though.

I think there's a band in Scotland called Debaser also.

Was that intentional or accidental? I've never listened to Fear of Music (band) but (album) is most fantastic. What do they sound like, Mike?

Also, Blonde Redhead (DNA song).

When I have more time, I'll stick a song on here for you. They are only about 17.

I am not sure if it is intentional or not. They certainly sound nothing like Talking Heads.

Well, sort of close.

The John Vanderslice album Mass Suicide Occult Figurines is lifted from a Neutral Milk Hotel lyric from the song Song Against Sex.

Death Cab for Cutie get their name from a song performed in the Magical Mystery Tour movie. It's not a Beatles song, though.
