Normally, I hate guitar solos. A guitar solo typically consists of a pentatonic scale played masturbatorily in order to make the song longer.
The solo in "White Noise Maker" is an exception. |

Say wha? There's some damn good solos out there. Masturbatory solos are lame on records, you're right, but if it's a well written part of the song, solos can be great!
Exception is live, when if you have a great guitarist, a masturbatory solo is a thing of joy.
I remember Lyle Workman looking down at me in the front row after a particularly excellent masturbatory solo with the Catholics - me with an "I'm not worthy" look on my face, and him giving me the "I know I'm rad" sly wink.
But yeah, there sure are a lot of songs that don't need solos and have them anyway. |

The solo in Solid Gold is pretty high up there. I'm also quite partial to the solo on Nadine. |
