BBC Radio 6 has "In the Time of My Ruin" on its playlist (B playlist for now), and it has already been played on a number of shows:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/listen/playlist.shtml

Maybe it is the time to contact radio stations with requests for tracks from the album?

I've been requesting songs for a while now to no avail. I'm certain most radio stations have preview copies of it. I remember hearing several songs from Room On Fire on the radio about a month before it was released on CD. There was a whole show dedicated to it. I'm surprised that there hasn't been more talk about FM/RM, especially considering it's a double album.

Do we know which radio stations we had most success with playing HC? I'll emither anyone and everyone, but if you think it's best to centre my attention on a select few, I will do.

Kella, don't forget to drop RadioEINS a mail ;)

Radio 6 and Radio 2. Mark Radcliffe buckles under pressure.

Andy, did you email Lurpak on 6 today? He said he played the Frank Black song for Andy (right after he called it a dirge I think).

Aaah, the Shirehorses, did you know doofergrass did a song especially for ten percenter???

We are old, we are cheap,
Take our teeth out when we sleep,
Got no friends, bad eyesight,
Feel like shite.

We stop in, we do now't,
Stroke the cat, Put it out,
Smoke a pipe, if we like,
feel like shite.

Do we like stew?
We can't be sure,
We have soup,
But no teeth,
We suck up through a straw.

Cos we are old, we're clapped out,
We're infirm, mope about,
Smell of wee, support tights,
Feel like shite.

I think Ian Anderson on Radio Scotland gave FB some airplay for Honeycomb. Enough in fact, that my dad started to ask me about it cause he quite liked it.

Radio Scotland did Honeycomb proud. It was played on Ian Anderson, Bryan Burnett, Janice Forsyth and Tom Morton. With more email requests I'm sure the same will be true for FMRM.

I don't think that was me. As for the "lyric" you so kindly posted I have never had the need to wear support tights. Yet.

Hey! I just noticed when you click for more information it send you back to here! That's cool, if a little scary. I might email them to see if I can get an idea of what they'll be playing so it can go up on the news or something (if Dean and Brian deem it worthy that is).

Sure, Tre, we can give that a try if there's something significant to say other than "They might play this song on BBC". We don't want to make FB sound desperate for airplay/as if getting played on BBC is big news, but if they were to spend a little time talking on the new album of something as a result of us promoting them, it could be very cool. Good thinking.

Well what it means is that they'll play one song from fastman raiderman for every show they do that day at the bare minumim. I've mailed for more information on it though to see if I can get them to do more with it. I'll let you know how that goes.

Yay! There's a few names there who haven't had the pleasure of one of my emails. I need to start hitting the message boards and a few text lines, too. I checked the gigography for fB radio appearances. GRL (whatever this is/was) and Xfm hosted the man at some point in his career, so I'll pop by and say hello.

Frank seems to get a lot of airplay on XM Satellite Radio:

But it doesn't look like they've played anything from the new album, yet.

FMRM was featured on BBC radio 6's Roundtable last week, click listen again if you want to hear what they made of it. Given the reception Honeycomb got on last year's roundtable I doubt that it was favourably received, and a score of 18 out of 40 is not too hopeful:

I actually was listening in to that and was waiting for the roundtable verdict when I had a phone call. By the time I'd done the "No, I can't talk, I'm busy, no, BUSY, I'll call you back, yeah in about ten minutes, no, I'll call you back.." thing I'd missed it all.

Since most all of y'all seem to be from across the pond, is Worldspace Satellite Radio anywhere near as popular in the UK as XM and Sirius are in North America? Judging from their Web site, the available programming appears to be rather limited compared to what is available over here. And to add to that, you guys have DAB, which makes our "HD Radio" look like a joke, in comparison.
