Well it's not quite been as bad as the year that Cameron won it.
They need a radical re-think though 'cos it's just a tired idea now. It doesn't matter who they put in the house.

I actually think the year Cameron won it was more entertaining than this year. Why did they make this year's so damn long? There have been too many housemates in it as it is, even before bringing four of the losers back for a second chance. I'm really pissed off that they did that.
I think they should bring back the rich/poor divide for next series. Maybe that's a crap idea but it couldn't be any less entertaining than this year's.

I caught a glimpse of BB tonight. Suprise, suprise it was Nikki complaining about something. Made me glad I stopped watching it.
Does anybody here still watch it regularly?

Nah. I catch the occasional episode because my sisters are always watching it. Aisleyne is growing on me for some strange reason...Im beginning to hope she wins it.

I don't think anyone but Pete can win it. Even though he hasn't done much whilst in the house. He seems to be a genuinely nice guy though.

I do think Glyn has a chance now.....he has been on a journey more than anyone else. Maybe. Pete probably still I guess, which I would be fine with. Not Nikki though, please. She was 2nd favourite at the bookies.

Nikki shouldn't have the right to win. She was voted out fairly.

Who killed Big Brother?
With its walkouts, walk-ins, serial romances and multiple intrigues, BB7 should have been a classic. But it wasn't. Paul Flynn suggests 10 reasons why it all went wrong Wednesday August 16, 2006
Guardian 1 The mass walkouts
From the first moment of this year's BB, it was clear that not all was well. First there was Shahbaz, a man with no social skills whatsoever, who communicated only by directly invading everybody's personal space with a torrent of over-emotion, or by refusing to speak. This wasn't great TV. Remember Dawn and George? Even the most hardened defender of BB's legacy might have trouble locating them in a police line-up. The latter could have proved interesting - he was a new type for the house, landed gentry with an interesting facial piercing. But in the end neither could take the pace. The attempt to Elastoplast over this problem by throwing as many new housemates at the show as possible - some who should have been in there from the outset (Spiral, Jayne), and others who should never have got past the first audition (Jenny, Jonathan, Sam) - only served to magnify the problems of this year's casting. Note for future reference: please can no one else with gender issues ever go in the house again? That story strand has been done well and truly to death.
2 We've known the winner from the start
BB7 has been book-ended by a rare inevitability. The housemates know it. The viewers know it. Even Davina McCall knows it, though she will of course attempt to graft on a bit of chance and spontaneity come the finale. Pete Bennett will inevitably walk out the champion on Friday night - and good for him. He's a nice lad with a terrible line in trouser-wear. Not so good for the show, mind. Watching BB7 has been a little like listening to a 13-week-long joke to which you already knew the punchline.
3 The concept of 'romance' for the BB generation is now a negotiable deal
The couplings began in week one - first Sezar and Imogen, then Mikey and Grace - with all the tenderness, affection and deep emotional honesty of a Hollyoaks script meeting. Of course, this is absolutely out of the hands of the production team; they can't control what goes on when pretty young things are put on that killer combination of cheap wine and testosterone. But it was genuinely shocking to witness the lovelessness of the characters involved. When first Sezar and then Gracie were chucked out, Mikey all but threw himself at Imogen. This interchangeable Saturday-night copping-off is played out with two distinct words in everybody's minds: "Preston" and "Chantelle". Their ghosts have never left the house, played out with a terrible lack of personal objectivity by the tiresome and ill-suited Pete and Nikki. Bringing us neatly on to ...
4 Nikki, generally
Never before has a contestant walked the line between comedy and tragedy with such distinction. We know that Nikki has been institutionalised for her eating disorders. We know that she has all the dramatic reach and sexuality of an eight-year-old. We know that BB works best as a study of the human condition. And so we should also know that latent hysteria can sometimes get in the way of all that. For two entire weeks, the footage seemed to revolve around Nikki waving her arms about in the diary room. It wasn't enough.
5 Who is Big Brother?
The diary room excerpts - always the most charged and brilliant interludes in previous series - have been characterless. The Big Brothers have neither guided nor led the contestants into confession, nor goaded them into revelation. Big Brother himself hasn't been nasty, funny, kind nor irreverent. When he was replaced by an automated service for two long days, the change was hardly noticeable.
6 Where is the redemption?
The sole purpose of this year's show seems to have been breaking the contestants, until all we are left with is a heap of weeping wrecks. All the housemates who showed a bit of early oomph - Lea, Pete, Glyn and particularly the formidable and potentially fantastic Aisleyne - have been reduced to quibbling, gibbering messes. All of which means that the series has steered perilously close to becoming the thing that its plentiful detractors say it is - an unrelenting and unforgiving human zoo.
7 Those endless 'secret' houses and rooms
You can over-egg this pudding, particularly if the soundproofing isn't up to scratch. The idea of keeping secrets has been one of the better philosophical conundrums to face BB housemates over the years. But that goes out of the window when they know everything that is going on - for the very simple reason that they can hear it. The most ubiquitous camera shot of the entire series of BB7 has been of housemates listening to one another through walls.
8 Casting on looks alone
Look at the girls' portfolios on the Channel 4 website: promo girls; models; Miss Wales. And the less-trumpeted porn past of Lea. If your lone ambition is to end up on the cover of Nuts magazine, this isn't going to play out well on a looped TV show. Where were the grisly cabbies, the opinionated shop assistants, or the wearied social workers? BB is in danger of becoming not so much a slice of life as a slice of Wetherspoons. After last year's born storytellers - rappers, ingenues, Tory speechwriters, cross-dressing undergraduates - this lot looked particularly vapid and ill-schooled in the art of verbal communication. Richard has been an unrufflable presence in moving the story along, but he has been alone in this.
9 Putting ex-housemates back in the show
Whatever moral dilemma this may have caused - the producers' decision is currently under investigation - the more pressing fact was that putting ex-housemates back in the house rubs away all the smoke and mirrors. Once housemates have stopped being "civilians" and entered their 15-minute fame-span they cannot reintegrate. The entire show is based on a personal transformation that occurs within the voluntary incarceration of the house. Reintegrating old housemates messes up the balance and takes away any sense of climax about the final week. Nikki's re-entry has had a deadening effect, and watching her laud it over the others has been like pulling back the curtain and seeing the wizard in Oz. And asking Nikki not to talk about the outside world is like asking an infant not to cry for milk.
10 The show has become the story
In week four, when the whole "golden ticket" fiasco was played out to let Suzy into the house (a woman who would go on to say that she wanted "exposure" out of it, thus reducing BB to its most acquisitive core), a subtle shift occurred. There were cries of "Fix!", played out almost daily on the front cover of the Daily Star. Suzy turned out to be represented by Max Clifford. If there was one grand narrative happening within the house - something that producers have inevitably attempted to strike up by reintroducing Nikki - these "outside" stories would become an irrelevance. But they haven't. The two best stories to have come out of BB this year were: a) the fact that Bonnie couldn't return to the BB house because she was on police bail for unpaid pizza deliveries; and b) that one of the presenters of one of the satellite shows got off with Kate Moss. Look, I love Big Brother. I only want it to be great. But we must try harder than this.

I think she has a stunning face. She's too skinny and she's been around shall we say, but there is denying she has a very pretty face.
She's better than a dead pig anyway.

hurrah for Pete. Totally manic in the interview. A touch of the Vyvyan's about him as well. Do you think he's ever watched The Young Ones? Maybe the rat was really SPG.

I think the most entertaining part of this year's Big Brother has been Russell Brand's Big Mouth programme.
