So, it's started again....13 weeks of voyeurism, tantrums and tears.
Is it worth having a thread about it?
I like it, although sometimes it makes me squirm with uneasiness at the situations. Car crash TV. Who's with me?
I've not seen him, but I'm kind of hoping the guy with Tourettes wins.

Why can't they come up with a new idea for a reality show? How about people buying milk. That would be a lot more interesting than Big Brother.

I get horribly hooked and I insisted it was on last night. Dawn who hates everyone and Shabaz the gay asian scotsman are my favourites.
Bonno (No sorry, Bonnie) was frickin' hilarious.

...on the television in the house where I live with one sulking australian bloke and one other who had said bad things about the big brother but he was wrong and had curry so I kind of hate him but not really.
Does this make more sense now?

Once again they are all a bunch of vomit inducing exhibitionists. Wont stop me watching it every night though.

I'll be watching. There must just be something in my brain that enjoys watching freaks in a madhouse.
I'm not proud that I watch it, I just get hooked though.

Pete is so funny. When he took a drink, spat it out and went "ugh, LEMONADE", I was in stitches.
The gay, scottish guy is very annoying though.
and Immmmogen....

A phenomenon that never really took off here and I don't understand its appeal, but that's what keeps you Brits wacky. :)

I agree Llama, Pete is pure comedy and yes, Shobaz (the guy who sounds like Mrs. Doubtfire) is very annoying. Pete is probably my favourite so far.

I saw some of this earlier...fuck...talk about a freakshow. That tourettes guy...either he's taking the piss or BB are taking the piss out of him.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs are on Jonathan Ross right now.

How so? I'm pretty sure he has Tourettes, so he's not taking the piss, and he applied to go on BB, so I don't think BB are taking the piss. The guy is trying to carve out a career as a comedian and musician. (there is a certain amount of Lee Evans about him)

I always watch it but I have been out on the piss since it began this year. I'll catch up a little today before I go to see Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

Well, yeah, I guess it's genuine. Watching a bit of it last night, and just before they went to an ad break, they showed a little 'coming up' clip of him doing some involuntary action and it seemed a bit like they were taking the piss. I dunno, I suppose it's no big deal. Saw on the teletext this morning that some Tourette's group has protested against BB, that they feel he's being exploited.

I thought at first that BB may try to exploit him but I think that Pete being in the house could raise more awareness of what tourettes actually is and show that someone who has tourettes is just the same as everybody else. I think that Pete is really funny and am looking forward to seeing more of him as he is a bit of an entertainer.
I thought the tourettes was an act at first from him but now I know it isn't he just seems like a normal guy.

Well, that's the difficulty. Do we allow people with mental/physical afflictions on the show and risk being accused of exploitation, or should they be stopped going on altogether to try to protect them. The latter is just too patronising for my tastes. The guy, by the nature of Tourettes, is probably going to provide material for the producers to use. Then again, there have been people in the BB house with greater problems than Tourettes.

I havent watched it, i just hope the guy has a strong enough personality so that people see him as more than 'the tourettes guy', if he pulls it off he could help people's understanding |

I think he definitely has a strong enough personality to overcome the 'tourettes guy' tag. It's early days but I predict he'll be in the final three.

hehe I said that. I watched BBLB this morning and they were interviewing someone about the way this guys tourettes will change throughout the program. They reckon if the house settles into a nice routine it'll ease off but if there is a high level of friction it'll just get worse and worse.
I've decided I don't like any of them really. Maybe mental Lisa. Dawn I liked but now I'm not sure. Shabaz has a great voice and I'm sure if he used it less he would be fine.
I don't really want to get hooked.

Shabaz is a bit scary. Most of 'em are a little unhinged. I suppose if they picked a load of quiet, boring people, it jsut wouldn't be as much fun. :)

Just saw it for the first time. I like Pete and the huge gay guy, what's he called? Reminds me a little of Dan from a previous series.
Imogen is stunning. Physically she is the most beautiful female contestant ever!
I'm afraid one extremely atractive girl and two interesting guys are as much as I can take positively from it right now. I need to watch more.

I'm not so keen on Richard, the big gay guy who describes himself as a sexual terrorist. Scary. Shabaz always seems like he's had too much fizzy pop.
I've just realised I'm hooked. Not a good thing with exams coming up

I'd have to disagree with that. Makosi from last year was stunning (although I hated her!).
I like Imogen's Welsh accent though. She is the Welsh one isn't she?
