Very sad news indeed.
The last Go-Betweens record was excellent, I was hoping to see them perform live some day. Ah well.
I'll play Horsebreakerstar all day tomorrow.

| Must admit I knew little about him or the band prior to this but as his death prompted some torrents at dimeadozen, I've checked them out, to good effect. It is a shame when the good go so young. |

I only have what my brother once gave me (Oceans Apart/The Friends Of Rachel Worth/Bright Orange Bright Yellow)
I read about his death in the other thread, but never replied for some unknown reason. Do you know what the cause of death was, cassandra is? It's just that him dying in his sleep sounds so peaceful, so natural. Yet he died too young. |

No problem cassandra is (eh, hey is your username from the ABBA b-side perhaps?)
FBC, no cause of death mentioned anywhere. If you enjoyed those albums you've mentioned you could check out Bellavista Terrace, a compilation of the Go-Betweens' 80's stuff. They released at least three classic albums during that decade.

What ABBA song are you talking about?
There is an ABBA song, Cassandra, which is a b-side on The Day Before You Came single............ so I just wondered. Sorry.
Well, back on topic. You know McLennan's solo albums? Horsebreaker star is incredible. Beggars Banquet cut some tracks from the US release because they were deemed too "country" for the US market. (eh!?)

I own "16 Lovers Lane" (the second version, featuring a bunch of extra tracks), I haven't listened to it for ages but I believe the time has come to love it again :)

| Same for me, I really only know Send Me a Lullabye that I adored, but tomorrow will be the appropriate moment to play it again, for the first time since... well, wow. |

| What drew me in was an acoustic rendition of that cute little song about Lee Remick, whom I absolutely love. |

I'm not familiar with the Go-Betweens. Nevertheless, RIP.

"She was in The Omen with Gregory Peck/She got killed — what the heck?"
I like the lyric.
I just read that Lee Remick was their first single. First time I heard it was on the Striped Sunlight Sound DVD. McLennan and Forster talk about some of their songs, and performs them in Forster's living room with his dog listening on.
