Hi, I just love Dog sleep & If your poison gets you. If all the songs are going to be of this quality I think FMRM is going to be even better than Honeycomb. I love Honeycomb but there's more creativity in the arrangements and stucture of the new songs. And that's what I really like about Frank's music, the combination of the known and the weird. There's something really smooth about these song too, I can't put my finger on it. It just feel right. I think if you put FB's carreer next to the scale of the evolution of man, he's allmost standing up -I would say completely but you never know there's a next level-. Anyways, I can't wait for the album to come out. It's always a drag here in Belgium, you have to wait several weeks after the official release to get a copy. Oh yeah, one more thing, we have a FB lookalike singersongwriter here in Belgium. His name is Frank Verlinden from 'De mens'. He makes kinda FB rockmusic whith numbers like 'What is art?' in Dutch. http://houbi.com/belpop/media/mens.jpgI'm not really a fan but sometimes a lookalike is the closest you can get to your idol. |

AMG (www.allmusic.com) has created a FM/RM page. It's very sparse now (no album cover or track list) but keep an eye out over the next week or so. They'll surely slap a review on there soon.

"Ah, for fuck's sake," Wow! Was that really necessary? Have i just ruined your day or something?
"stop crossposting!" would have been fairly civil. Some people need to cool down a little. It's just a forum. You'd swear i just tried to shoot you or something.

"We're all glad to have new members"
Nice. I was waiting for the superiority complex to kick in. I'm sure your a much better person than i am for currently having 4598 Posts. But please let me post with all the grown ups.
I love the frank black forum. Occasionally it can end up that i come across a thread with ridiculous anal remarks. And that ruins it for everyone. You want an appology? Sorry. Why don't have one of my kidneys while your at it. If you have a problem in the real world don't start projecting your anger on to here. I thought this was a place for Frank Black fans. Not for the vendictive.
I'm going to avoid this thread, and the member "vilainde". I think lifes worth a little more than wasting it on typing this for you. Post al the complaints you want. And i'm sure i'll be threatened with my membership being cancelled for something like this.

Wow. Looks like I just missed the war.
Hope I qualify as one of the cool newbies.
But then again that's why I just gotta put myself smack dab in middle of this...
vilainde, no disrespect meant, but that WAS a little harsh, I could see if he had like 1000 posts on him or something, but he IS new.
s wrenn, vilainde was probably having a bad day. you never know.
Everyone, Frank is the reason we are all here, he probably won't visit this forum much if we thinks we are all playing 5th grade baby games. If FrankBlack.net treats newbies like this on a regular basis, I'll probably go start kimdeal.net
I could talk myself to death, but I believe I would only waste my breath. |

and if vilainde had said "could you please stop crossposting?" he'd probably have got a "who made you mod" kind of reply. The crossposting was irritating and vilainde wasn't directly abusive to a forum member. He used the word 'fuck' to express his frustration.....and that's all the problem seems to be.
As BLT said in General Chat, if it had been a non-noob, they'd have got much more abuse. I hardly think this qualifies as poor treatment.
That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.

Anyway.
I've been digging 'If Your Poison Gets You' since I first heard it. The main riff is pure Frank Black genius. If you doubt me, you don't play guitar. You really should learn, you know. It's easier than you think. And the chorus? Well Fb singalongalicious once again.
Nobody does it better Makes me feel sad for the rest Nobody does it half as good as you fB, you're the best

thanks for getting back to the topic fbc. I do play guitar and it's these riffs that makes me want to pick it up. The riff of IYPGY is something of a skipping heartbeat and I like it. You're wrong FB, this IS good! By the way, that myspace page isn't online anymore! I hope this song is going to be in the next podcast if the page stays offline. I can't get it out of my mind and I got to hear it again. I sound like an addict. Maybe I am. Just put the page back online whoever took it off! (overreacting) |

I didn't give it a try yet. I mostly tend to play songs where I can sing along and sadly my voice is more of a castrato than a bass. I for instance can't in any way sing the ending of end of miles, but 'I got a broken face' is a piece of cake. |

And it'll surely get no more than 3 stars. Those AMG fools... I trust them less and less with each FB release.
