There has got to be a place to store our concert files other than dimetorrent... I have been trying for 4 weeks to get in to dime and no luck. They ALWAYS have 93k members and there's just no getting in there. Even though I have to wait 80 minutes between downloads, I kinda like rapidshare tho... Streamload.com might even be a possibility for us. Any ideas?

well there are onezs like purelivegigs and zomb, but i prefer dime, but thats cause i'm a member, and it's just more active than the others. just keep on trying to join up. i've nabbed a few accounts for various people and it's never taken me more than 10-15 minutes before a space opens up.
all i can say, thank god for polio! brian |

case in point. i tried the signup page just then, and the first time it was full, but when i refreshed the page a couple minutes later, a space had opened up for me. just keep on trying.

well i would except the last time i got one for someone else i got a very nasty email shortly afterwards from the dime mods saying that if i did it again my own actual account would be blocked and i could never use dime again. so no, i can't nab you an account.
and tried just now again and an account was available straight away... frustrating for you yes, but you will get one....

Well, I went to the site... Put the wife on autoclick til I got an account (lol) and finally got one, and what happens? We put an underscore instead of a dash in our email making it so our confirmation never came to us... But we explained it to the nice folks at dime a doezen who promptly helped us out by deleting our account, leaving us free to autoclick for another half an hour. Anyways, we finally got our account... once again proving that one CAN get on dime a dozen if they want on bad enough... Whatever... Oh, Yeah, Autoclicking wife not included ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that you have the dime account, I think you need to use it regularly to maintain it. I think I once read that if your account is dormant for a certain period of time it will be closed. However, I just browsed the dime FAQ and didn't see anything about that. Given their ceiling of 93K accounts, it does make sense that they sweep dormant accounts. Anybody know anything about that?
Incidentally, dime allowed 100K accounts up until several months ago but had to lower the number of users to lessen the server load or somesuch. |

glad to hear you got one billy - now you can go crazy......just don't foget your share ratio.....mine is not good but thats cause my uploads count towards my monthly traffic with my isp, so if i got to a ratio of 1, i'd never be able to download anything....
and i think they must sweep dormant accounts as i'm sure the number of people voluntarily deleting their accounts wouldn't be the same as the number signing up. originally it said they were dropping to 75000, but they stopped at 93.

I had an account for about a year, then lost it due to disuse. It took me about two weeks of attempts before I could establish a new account. |

I think to keep your account you have to just make sure you login at least every 90 days, I think I remember reading that. I haven't actually downloaded anything using my account for ages but I still have it.
