So on Monday i'm going to go pay my respects to a friend of the family/my orthodontist, and ask him for the old 45RPM Jukebox in his office that has remained unplugged and untouched for 10+ years. The way i see it, i'll move it for free and get it out of the lobby + $100 sounds fair to me.
If he says yes, and i get it, then the fun begins. I can't wait to load it up with a combo of the 7"s i have and start buying the dirt cheap lots of 45s on e-bay (like 100-200 for 15 or 20 bucks) and just mix and match and create a fun mixture of tunes.
Does anyone here have a jukebox? Do you know if its a lot of maintaining and cleaning, or if its pretty self-sufficient? I'm excited!

Have you heard about Ipod? it's smaller and has more songs in it. Ok it's not as beautiful. If had enough space at home, I 'd rather buy a pinball. |

My brother had the same reaction Remi. I just love the look of it - plus, it gives me something to do with all my 45s - its like instant dialing up of vinyl, instead of looking through my box, turning on the turntable, etc...

You can't compare an ipod and a jukebox. I'm so jealous, Brian.

Right, you can't take your jukebox in the subway. |

This is nowhere near definite yet. I'm just going on a hunch that he's looking to get rid of it easily. Lately i've been thinking of a longterm plan of opening up a coffee shop/performance space in a few years, and i think a jukebox would be a necessity in that type of a place.

You have to make it good: a jukebox can be a real disappointment if it's loaded with rubbish. I can recommend a few good pubs in London where they take it seriously, and we're talking ace here.
