Has anyone out there seen this? It seems I am in my own little world where this movie actually exists, has come out, was done by the Wachowski Brothers, has Natalie Portman, and nobody has seen it but me. It is late. Perhaps I'm dreaming even as I type.

Absolutely loved it!!! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to live freely and out of the grasps of the media trends and a mediocre government.Brilliant acting and full of messages that can cause a reaction and possibly wake up some from the dormant majority who live like puppets deciding to live with their strings pulled instead of living their lives deciding with their own minds.

So just you and I, huh? :)
Yeah, I enjoyed it quite a bit, too. I don't know about the message, which is part of what I liked about it I guess... I felt very uncomfortable about that/the ending. Don't want to say anything else/ruin it for people, but definitely had an effect.
Certainly I did think that the commentary on government and security was spot on and it is my fear that that is the way things are going. A dark vision of a possible near future.

So you'd strongly recommend this, CoF? I've watched a couple of trailers and liked the look of it, and feel I should see it really, since not many big name British-set films come out that often (that's not Bond, at least). I do have a fear that its an awful blockbuster kind of film; is it?

I've seen this flick and I really dug it. The message of living in fear is a potent one and very relevant to our modern day reality of living with code yellow. Natalie Portman est tres jolie.

Yeah, I definitely would recommend it, mislead. It's certainly better than anything out there right now and I think is pretty well done.

I was really looking forward to seeing this (for geekish reasons) then every review I saw absolutely thrashed it. Johnathon Ross (film crit and uber geek) tore it apart, said it wasa waste of time. So I didn't go see it.

Well, I enjoyed it. If you're looking for an art school film, then no, you probably won't like it, but as a comic book brought to screen, it certainly had more to it than X-men (which I also enjoyed). Critics just don't know how to enjoy things for what they are; there are different levels of entertainment.

I didn't want to see it at all, but then I heard there were some lesbian scenes in it. So I'm not sure.

Saw it twice, liked it much. The political message is extremely heavy handed, and there's a fight scene at the end that feels out of place in this movie, but its a really good time over all. Natalie's excellent.

Yeah, it's definitely a bit heavyhanded. It is interesting, and a resonably enjoyable watch, though. I haven't read the graphic novel, but they did crowbar some very 'now' issues into the original totalitarian future story.
