We had a similar topic a long time ago. Carl is my real first name. I feel like a bit of an arse for using it now, it feels a bit too close to home, like anyone can go 'Carl, your a git.' and it kind of feels too personal. :)

BTW, Homers, there's an episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets a pet monkey!!What a coincidence!

I would contribute something meaningful except that mercifully my username was available back then.

Mine is a reference to a chap who Frank encounters on a neighbouring planet to the planet of sound, and who gives Frank directions to said planet of sound. I cant really remember but I think I wanted something Frank related but all the good ones like Brackish Boy and Billy Radcliffe were gone, so I went for guy in a rover. I kind of don't really like it because nobody seems to get the reference but I guess Im stuck with it now. It sounds lame but I got cheapies when Frank sang the line, 'I met a guy in a rover' at T in the Park. Planet of Sound is a badass song. We should start a Planet of Sound appreciation thread. Ramble over.

Mine's quite obvious, but not too obvious, you know? I like that.

This username is actually long retired and I use another one for everywhere else generally, but I didn't want to change because a) I recalled some sort of hubbub about that sort of thing and b) there is a link to my forum profile on the Pixies tribute album section, which I am most honoured about.

I really can't remember. I was trying to find a username for something, and everything I tried was taken, so I think I just stuck two random words together. It could have been worse.

Or maybe I have a dancing llama fetish.

I think the surfers down in PE also call their waves jedirollers.

I combined bits of my surname and first name to get my username.

I fought my way up a mountain, defeating many moblins and octoroks along the way, till I reached the cave of the Old Man. He gave me a scroll with strange writing on it and told me to show it to the Old Woman. When I found her, behind a waterfall, she told me my fortune and bestowed upon me this name. Shhhh, its a secret to everybody.
