Thanks for the input on the France trip. It was a nice time, although lame strike-related crap left a few black eyes on the trip. The worst was having a monk poke his head out from the Mont-St-Michel abbey to explain that they were taking the day off due to a strike. Nice one.
If we ever do this again, I think we'll give maybe a day to Paris, and spend the rest in the Loire.
Anyway, anyone interested in some shots of the trip can find them at http://photos.yahoo.com/johndietzel/ . Yahoo reformats the images and makes 'em tiny, but hopefully you'll get the idea.
Thanks again for the advice; I was seriously overwhelmed by Mont Saint Michel.

Some nice photos there, too bad about the strike but the annoyance will fade and you'll be left with stories and good memories.

Oh yeah- Pere Lachaise would've been worth a day on its own. Next time, we won't even consider braving its streets of huge cobblestones within 2 hours of landing in a new country, on zero hours of sleep.
Death never looked so romantic.
Note the shots of the tomb of Heloise (and Abelard) of Frank Black song notoriety.

Ha! Monks on strike. I'm terribly sorry on the name of my fellow citizens for this (although I did support the strikes). They did let you climb up the Eiffel Tower at least. I can't quite believe you managed to visit both Orsay and the Louvre on the same day. What are you, cyborgs? Anyway, some great pics in there. I'm glad you had a nice trip and that our recommendantions paid off.
