Too lazy to reach for the remote, I wound up watching most of this pretty bad 80's movie Married To The Mob. Towards the very end of the credits they squeezed in about fifteen seconds of Isla De Encanta. I don't think I even saw the song mentioned in the credits. Have I just missed any mentions of this before? I almost reached for the remote at least a dozen times throughout the movie, but I think the power of the Pixies kept me on that channel.

I am going crazy? I thought I posted a reply here. (Either I didn't click Submit Reply or it was deleted!). Anyhoo, yeah, it has been mentioned before. I've Been Tired can be heard in Unbreakable, apparently.

That's okay, can't find the initial thread. Plus, I missed this the first time around. You can't trust Carl anyway. I know. I've met him. :P

Even stranger than the song being on the closing credits...I'm pretty sure David Byrne was the musical coordinator for the movie, I can't remember if he did the score, but I think he picked out the songs that played. And he probably wasn't really into the Pixies, I think he liked that song because it was Spanish-sounding and he was so into that back then.
I was so surprised when I first heard it- I had watched the movie and started reading something once the credits rolled and then all of a sudden it came on.

I liked "Married to the Mob". It was an interesting story and all the actors were good. I have to say though, for a comedy it was pretty un-funny.

It's Jonathan Demme - not a bad movie.
I used to make promos for a television station that was airing that movie. We were allowed to use any music in the movie for the promo, otherwise we had to use crappy "canned" music. To my joy, I found that snippet of Pixies in the credits. It pretty much made my year that I could cut something with a Pixies song and put it on TV, even if it was a pretty lame promo. |
