24-Hour Documentary Channel Launches on DISH Network

EchoStar Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:DISH) andits DISH Network satellite TV service is premiering The DocumentaryChannel (DOC), a 24-hour network dedicated exclusively to independentdocumentary film. This channel is available to customers who subscribeto at least America's Top 60 programming package on channel 197.

The Documentary Channel provides DISH Network viewers with anunparalleled selection of documentary viewing options spanning allgenres. Each film airs commercial-free on the Documentary Channel,including many titles making their worldwide television premieres.

"With the phenomenal recent box office success of films such as'March of the Penguins,' 'Winged Migration' and 'SuperSize Me,' ourlaunch coincides with the height of the documentary genre'spopularity," said Tom Neff, chief executive officer of The DocumentaryChannel. "Today is a great day for documentary filmmakers anddocumentary fans. Highlights of The Documentary Channel's February launch monthinclude:

Documentary Channel served on Dish

EchoStar-owned satellite TV service Dish Network is adding a 24-hour network dedicated exclusively to independent documentary film to its line-up in the US.

The Documentary Channel does what it says on the packet, featuring nothing but documentaries of all lengths across all genres, spanning classics to cutting-edge contemporary.

The channel is headquartered in Nashville and has offices in Los Angeles and New York. It joins Dish this month, with debut titles airing ad-free, including Waco: Rules of Engagement, Hitman Hart: Wrestling in the Shadows and The Pixies: Gouge, about the influential rock group.
