Now that's what I want to see! We haven't seen a lot of the band behind the scenes. I'm very excited about this! Thank you very much for sharing this clip! |

I have to agree, this looks very well done and more intimate with the band than any other footage I've seen.

Does it seriously bug anyone else when "The" is included in the band's name?
And good lord, was that Charles with his shirt off?

Apesy, it bothered me!!! i was gonna say it in my post above and i thought i'd get shot down for being too particular... if they just hadn't of used a capital 'T' then it would have been sorta ok! thats how you can always spot fake merchandise.. because non fan scammers don't realise that 'the' isn't part of the name |

yeah, well it was a 4AD decision to lose the 'the', so I don't really care I do care about the film, it was the best footage I have ever seen of the Pixies, excluding concerts. Kelley is so damn funny:,,you are going to break up within a week''

But whats Joey saing around the middle of it? "I was *** out." ?!? I don't get it. |

"Eking it out," is something along the lines of "just getting by." It seems he's talking about what life was like before the Pixies reunion.
For all you people that want to see it on a big screen, fire off e-mails to your local independent cinema. I've managed to get a couple of films screened here just by asking and will certainly give it a shot with this one. Chances are whoever books the shows will give it a shot - they just need to know it's worth their time to bring the movie around. The folks who made it surely have their ideas about where to take it, but would also be thrilled to see interest in places they haven't considered. So get your local Pixie-lovin' friends to help you bug the key players, convince the cinema that they'll make some money, and hope they're interested. Just tell them to wait until after it comes up to Edmonton!

Thanks Crispy Water:
Here are four places that play indie flix:
Landmark Lagoon Cinema 1320 Lagoon (biggest of the indies) Minneapolis , MN 55408
(612)825-6006 Landmark Uptown Theatre (second biggiest of indies 2906 Hennepin Ave S Minneapolis , MN 55408
(612)825-6006
Bryant-Lake Bowl Theatre (smallest but cool) 810 West Lake Street Minneapolis , MN 55408
(612)825-8949| Get Map
Varsity Theatre (this is also a concert video hipster place) 1308 4th Street South East Minneapolis , MN 55414
(612)604-0222
There is another indie place in the suburbs but I don't know the name.
Here's a mainstream place but has been known to play indie stuff: Crown Block E 15 600 Hennepin Avenue South Minneapolis , MN 55402
(612)338-5900
Thanks again Crispy Water. I bet some of the radio stations around here 89.3 the Current, Drive 105 or the college station on 770 am (I forget the name) might be interested in sponsoring a showing.
Lots of Pixies fans in the Twin Cities...also seems appropriate due to the fact that the first stop of their reunion tour was here as well!

I've heard your area is a relative hotbed. Worked a festival with a guy from Winnipeg a couple summers ago and he said it used to be a regular occurrence to just run down to Minneapolis for a night to see Frank Black & The Catholics. We got one of the first stops of the reunion tour out here too, and I was beyond shocked at how many people were geared up for it. You wouldn't believe what a nightmare it was to get tickets.

Ok-enjoyed watching the trailer, but does anyone else feel that PIXIES are about the music they create, not about "reality" show banter? I actually am alittle perplexed at why this has been done. I have been a huge fan since 87 and have always found them interesting as musicians , but this almost borderlines cheese. Sorry, I dont mean to offend everyone thats excited about the film, but sometimes mystic is better than reality. I kind of figured that PIXIES were the best at being avg joe looking and blowing people away with the music and live performances-what next PIXIES on survivor or fear factor-geez come on. I never ever in a billion years thought that I would say this , but I think its time for PIXIES to give it a rest. They resurrected they conquered and proved a point that I had been trying to get people to see forever. The music they created is already classic-ever single recording in my opinion-why do they want to try and recreate it-dont! please. Let it rest on the fact that anyone interested in you saw last year=On with FRANK AND THE CATHOLICS-BREEDERS-MARTINIS AND SCIENCE/MAGIC!!!!! please |
