Hi! I'm quite a new Pixies (and Frank) fan, and I just got the dvd "pixies" for christmas. Although I enjoyed it, I was surprised when I watched the "gouge" part with all the interviews, because there were...no subtitles at all! and this is not mentioned before you buy it. As English is not my mother language, that was not easy for me to get everything and I suppose all the Pixies' fans don't perfectly speak and understand English. I wonder if this only concern the dvd released in France, or if some of you had to deal with the same situation. Sorry if it has already been said, but there are so many subjects!

It's like that with the US version I have.
I have another complaint about the interviews. They seemed quickly assembled. You know, the guy in the hotel room talking about how great it all was? Couldn't they have gotten the band together for a half hour apiece to talk? That would have made it so much better. It felt like a tease seeing them for a few seconds eat Thanksgiving dinner and stroll around Disney Land.
Still, a fun little DVD!
Welcome to fb.net. We could use a cool chick from France.

Is that the right DVD kathryn? It sounds like you're talking about 'sell out', but Narfk is talking about the first DVD. I bought it in the UK and to the best of my knowledge there are no subtitles.
Welcome, Narfk.

D'oh! You're right. Still, it's a valid complaint about the Sell Out DVD and one others might share.

Yeah, I agree with Kathryn on this. I did find it interesting that the one guy mentioned how there are a lot more female fans now, though. I wonder why.

Yes, I remember I inquired about subtitles back when it was about to be released, and Jo said there weren't going to be any. Wasn't really a problem for me though, as I have it on VHS with Swedish subtitling |

I agree with kathryn too, interviews with the actual band members on 'sell out' would have made it a more enjoyable DVD. I love extras on DVD's like interviews and documentaries and stuff. Don't get me wrong, the extra performances are great, but it's the smaller things (like subtitles etc) that make a great DVD aswell.
