I'm debating whether the F# in the chorus is an F#m. Seems like it could swing either way.
Maybe I need to listen through headphones. But, opinions welcome. As are corrections
in case I goofed somewhere.

And also playing a G/F# on the word "Lone" makes for a good walk down to the E minor.

Not positive that A9aug5 is actually called that. And I'm not
fully convinced about the D/F# chord. Any suggestions, let me
know.

 A-5 E

[verses] - same exact progression throughout

Mamma killed a pumpkin, she thought it was a sweet
She put it on the table but it was still meat
 She forgot the sugar again

Daddy came home, she had tears in her eyes
He said "Gimme grilled cheese and paperbag French fries"
See, he forgot the sugar again

We had a wander seven years out West
 It wasn't exactly the wilderness
But I felt like an Israelite

Mamma is a gypsy, she'll never find her town
Daddy went to sea but the boat went down
And the flames shot into the night

[chorus]
  Sing for joy
  Sing for laughs
  Sing for joy
  Sing for joy
  If nothing else
  Sing for joy

[verses]
I know a girl who lives on the hill
I don't know if her sister will
or I was thinking about her best friend

Oh listen to me I'm a desperate boy
I think I better have a sing for joy
And I guess this has just got to end

I'll get away in my get away car
Every now and then I'll send my regards
From a payphone down in the flats

 I'm sorry for the love
 I'm sorry for the pain
I'll say I'm sorry baby again and again
I'm sorry we're joining the stats

[chorus]
  Sing for joy
  Sing for laughs
  Sing for joy
  Sing for joy
  If nothing else
  Sing for joy

Do you have any idea about the two solos in the breaks of I Burn Today? I'm trying to make a Guitar Pro tab with all the instruments. Maybe there's some scale I can mess around that you can show me..?

Good job.

Hey Derek, 'Sing For Joy' has this little beauty of a chord just after the 'A',
but I don't know it's name:

There's no proper name for it. You can just call it what it is, which is A with an added diminished fifth.

No, A(add dim5). It's important to distinguish it from a regular diminished A chord by noting that it's a full A MAJOR chord with an added diminished fifth. The notes that make up this chord are A-C#-D#-E; an A chord is A-C#-E; an Am chord is A-C-E; an Adim5 chord is A-C-Eb (A0, or diminished seventh, is A-C-Eb-Gb; and A0 with a slash through the 0, or half-diminished seventh, is A-C-Eb-G)

Or you could just say A(add Eb), which would probably be the least confusing way to phrase it.

Let me know what you all think of this tab. I was debating the A6 and F#7 chords but I think they sound correct.

Is Honeycomb tabs being posted worthy enough to get a news announcement? Or maybe just mention it briefly in the next post made about Frank Black news? I'm afraid people may have given up on me and gone looking for tabs at frankblack.org or something.

Anyway, in other tab news, I'm doing something crazy and tabbing the long solo at the end of "My Life is in Storage." So that should be posted soon, as well as "Sing for Joy." Though Sing for Joy chords are posted in alot of places and it's fairly repetitive and easy to figure out. I'm still working on "Honeycomb" and I'm gonna tab "Kiss My Ring" today. I saw Memoirs of a Geisha last night. It was ok.

I just finished the "Honeycomb" tab (see above). By far the hardest song to tab from this album. Please let me know if you notice anything wrong. It may take a while to get used to the tab/song, so be patient. Enjoy.

I have about 30 more seconds of the "My Life is in Storage" solo to tab. It should be posted within a couple days.

"My Life Is in Storage" has been added. I hope at least 2 people try and play the solo I tabbed because I think it's pretty damn accurate... Well... it's good enough.

And so the Honeycomb tabs are finished. Please don't hesitate to email me if you disagree with something in a tab. Or if you think something is missing. I probably would have totally missed that A-5 (or whatever) in Sing for Joy if fbc hadn't pointed it out. So thanks for that! Sorry I was late with these tabs. I'm back now.

Thanks for posting the news! Maybe people that don't even play an instrument will look at them now. And they'll think "wow, if I played guitar, I'd use these."

If anyone wants to figure out any solos or lead guitar parts, please feel free to tab them and post them here. I'm tabbed out for a few weeks.

Another Velvet Nightmare is one of the songs co-written with Reid Paley, yes?

Yeah, thanks Derek for your hard work.

I appreciate the songs more when I'm playing them.

You're welcome!

I agree, Ziggy. After I figured out the songs on guitar I rediscovered the album and kept listening to it.
