As long as you don't hit anything or anyone, there's nothing wrong with driving drunk. The legal limit should be raised considerably; the drunk driving laws are too strict and the punishments are too severe.
The problem is that the laws are basically written by MADD, and the problem with MADD is that they are not motivated by reason, but by emotion- since they've lost children to drunk driving accidents, they are in favor of anything that they think will prevent more deaths.
Not only is no one going to defend drinking and driving, no one can even suggest that the laws and punishments have gotten out of control.
People get so upset about this and cellphones, but as long as someone is driving correctly it doesn't matter what else they do.
(Incidently, I haven't driven drunk since before I turned 21-luckily I was never caught; I drove fine drunk, but all it takes is a burned-out taillight and the fines are so high (I also don't have a cell phone.)) |

So you don't think drunkenness impairs judgement, or what?

The only flaw in your argument is that a lot of people are stupid idiots, and they need a law to tell them not to do something. At least the laws of drinking and driving will make a person think twice in a lot of situations. The people who don't think twice, the people who just do whatever, thinking that everything will be okay, that nothing bad could ever happen to them...these are the people that not even laws can protect.
Jimmy: do you honestly think that you would still present this same argument if you lost a loved one, or your ability to walk due to a drunk driver? I'm telling you straight up, you'd look like an asshole sitting in that wheel chair.
Granted, when laws are lobbyed only be emotion, or when people even act out of nothing more than emotion...it can be depressing or ridiculous. Drinking and driving, however, is obviously something that, with a little bit of logic, anybody can tell is a bad idea.
So next time I'm going for a Sunday drive in your neighborhood, swigging shots of Wild Turkey and firing my gun at mailboxes, I'll be sure to do donuts on your lawn and shit on your porch.

There is no such thing as driving drunk "correctly" If it's such a big fuss to have to drive somewhere? don't fucking drink you fucking alcoholic. This discussion should end now because there is no argument, other than idiotic drivelings like this.
