It’s the 1980s, and the rock landscape is littered with massive hair, synthesizers and monster riffs, but there is an "alternative" being born in the sleepy east of America—we just don’t know it yet.

This is the set up for “Fool The World” The oral history of a band called Pixies, and in just a few weeks the story is coming LIVE to you! Read aloud by a posse of actors and a surprise guest or two, they will bring the story to life for a special one of a kind book reading tour.

The readings will last 40 to 45 minutes, followed by a Q and A with Author Josh Frank.

In London cartoonist Steve Appleby who did the famous cartoons for the last Pixies album, and original new drawings for the book will make an appearance.

About the book:
Before the Internet, MTV and iPods provided far-off music fans with knowledge and communities—and before Kurt Cobain’s Nirvana helped usher in a newly invigorated youth culture—kids across the world grew up in relative isolation, dependent on mix tapes and self-created art to slowly spread scenes and trends. It was under these conditions that four youngish musicians found each other in Boston, Massachusetts and started a band.

"Fool The World" tells Pixies’ story in the words of those who lived it, from the band - Charles Thompson, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering - to the tour managers, studio owners, A&R executives, producers, engineers and visual artists who worked with them, to the hometown acts who watched them skyrocket to indie superstardom.

Boasting new original cartoons by Steve Appleby (artist on Pixies’ Trompe Le Monde) and prints by Simon Larbalestier (photographer of all five Pixies covers) "Fool The World" is a complete journey through the life, death, and rebirth of one of the most influential bands of all time.
