Indeed that's where we mostly are... we're too afraid of you english crazy fools, we don't stand the comparison
Non seriously, I guess some of us are kinda busy right now for different reasons (work, making music, raising children, drinking champagne, playing cards, making love all the time with our passionate french women...) and some others are on holidays.

I think some are fed up with all the stupid posts from the 3 or 4 same users in the General Chat.
remig, I'll gladly leave this forum if my presence bothers you.
The faggy four, as determined by LBF, are s_wrenn, mr.bdh, trobrianders and myself. You could count awestruck, too, but she's no longer around and is hardly faggy, as she's a woman.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

People I miss:
Noexx TheCroutonFuton mun chien andalusia, for he knew of the Descendents, as evidenced by his referencing of the song "Kabuki Girl" (http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12014&whichpage=87) El_Barto Gypsy Death (though she's kinda still on, it's hard to say) peter radiator TOTIPOTENT KingOfSiam gracie Pioneer (hasn't posted since 2003, but there was a really cool thread he started about airplay and what it signifies) Cult_of_Frank (best person ever) Steev apl4eris ebb vicious Chris Knight glacial906 Mad Dawg Grizwald dayanara PsychicTwin (I'm with Carolynanna on this one) mereubu and ramona (I put them together because they had a pretty good friendship going, much like kathryn and daisy girl) Dave Noisy cvanepps (some great poetry) mcmikey useyourname song oracle SpudBoy fudd interloper blackpurse BrendanT I miss all the jokes we used to make about the swimmer. They were played at the time, but now I somehow miss them.
I know a lot of the people I mentioned didn't get along with each other - I miss it all. The only problem is that there are a lot of forum members whose names look familiar but whose posts are ultimately unremembered by me; I wish that I could have gotten to know steveplymouthuk or mdisanto or Pong or St. Francis or Sheamus (I think I remember him liking Modest Mouse) or klikger.
I miss Bill Watterson, too, although I don't think he was ever an fb.netter
EDIT: I remembered more people whom I miss. |

Darwin, they're controversial choices, I know, but let me explain.
Many of Ebb's comments were needed. My self-restraint often prevented me from saying what I would have really liked to say at the time. Thankfully, Ebb would say it for me. Case in point: http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9953 He didn't tolerate it when people bitched on the forum about whatever stupid petty problem they might have with the world. Plus, he was adequate. He didn't call me a "big crybaby" just to be mean; he called me a big crybaby because I made a thread called April Fool's Day is stupid in which I wrote a bunch of sappy two-tone meaningless drivel about famine in Africa. Honestly, I don't blame him. I will always remember his posts - although acerbic, they always made sense.
And I've come to think that Dave Noisy deleting the "Pictures of Beautiful Women" was a blessing in disguise. People went into conniptions once the thread was gone, and yet no great amount of thought or effort went into any of the posts on that thread, and many if not all of the pictures posted could have been found somewhere else on the internet. All of the actually intelligent discussion came from the threads that were created in the absence of POBW. Issues of sexism, free speech, feminism, impingement of freedom being more likely to emanate from the left side of the political spectrum - both sides brought up some really good questions. What Dave did was spark a debate. My interest in the forum re-surged. I'm less interested in the forum now than I was then.
Darwin, I think very highly of you, and I hope that I won't lose your respect even though I expressed admiration for people of whom you may have a very low opinion.

I erased my question (I was hoping before anyone saw it) because on second thought I decided it was a stupid question. We're all entitled to our own opinions, and I respect that you've put so much thought and time into your response. |

Yeah I think people are always gonna be missed by some, and quite the opposite by others.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I can't believe anyone doesn't miss Mad Dawg though, just for the sheer comedy.
I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

Oh, Mad Dawg - who is around to pimp us skull jewelry without ye?
I do miss some people (like KSR, mun chien, Rita, Surfer Rosa and, obviously, Dean), but i think for a whole this forum has regenerated itself pretty well. In fact, some of our most beloved posters are still relatively "new" to the forum (that is, they haven't been here since the inception), which shows that the forum is (more than other forums) welcoming to new users.

Like any group of people, you've got your assholes, good souls, and those in between. And you're right, it's a fairly welcoming forum ... unless your name is s_wrenn. I've never understood the abuse he's gotten.

I'm actually a really nice guy. I'm probably the nicest asshole that's ever been here through here. Not everyone is going to like you. Sometimes people are going to let you know. Consider it a compliment. This has to be the most welcoming, friendliest, most politically correct forum I've visited, that's actually worth reading anyways. There's just a few people that almost every time I read something they write I want to puke my guts out. So fuck off.
I really miss the Mad Dawg invasion, that shit was funny.
