im very new with computers.so forgive me for any errors that i may make.ijust have a thougt abought the recent ridiculously deserved attention that the pixies and especially frank black have been getting.i saw frank black for the 1st time in 1995(cult of ray).i think it was 95.ive seen him with the catholics 8 times.3 times in 2 weeks during the b.l.d. and d.w. tour.ive turned many people sometimes with force into fans.my upstairs roomate had no choice but listen to the scream in perry the wind a few times a day untill he liked it and bought the album.but hers my point.although im very happy for his sucess,i feel like ive been pushed slightly to the back of the crowd with the thousands maybe millions of new fans.iwas made to feel that way when i had such a hard time getting tickets for the ny shows,i did get tickets and it was great, but they xpensive.but i wouldnt have any other way. |

thats just the pixies tour, man. I cant see this new crowd passing over to future FB solo and (hopefully) Catholics shows. I remember FB even saying at one point that he didnt think most pixies fans would give a shit what he does outside of the pix |

I used to be that way to, I wasn't even aware that he put out any solo material until last year.

You're probably right. I think it's kind of weird to get into a band and NOT check out the members' other projects. That doesn't mean you have to LIKE them, of course, but connections are one of the best ways for discovering new (to you, anyway) bands. Mind you, I was into Frank before the Pixies, and I have very little knowledge of the Breeders or the Martinis, so...I don't know.
