Ronnie Barker on the left, with Richard Beckinsale (sadly also dead) in Porridge

Yeah, what a great bloke... one of Britains best ever comics without a shadow of a doubt.
This is a high class bureau de change, not some Punch & Judy show on the seafront at Margate! |

Sadly when I heard of his death I wondered if there'd be a thread on here related to his greatness. Im glad to also acknowledge that I too am a fan of his, growing up would never have been the same. Good luck Ronnie. |

What was he in? Not familiar to me even though I like British humor quite a bit. |

heres a couple you might wanna check out haywood porridge (set in prison, very funny) open all hours (in corner shop, also very funny and with david jason of only fools and horses fame) The two ronnies (with ronnie corbet, famous for the four candels and mastermind sketch i think, also good) was also in the frost report where he did the 'i know my place sketch' i think
another comic actor i associated with being a kid, although i think he was old even then, seemed like a good guy |

Porridge is a bit of a comedy classic isn't it really, it's one of those that you wouldn't switch off if it was on.
I remember the four candles sketch coming top of a poll somewhere, simple genius. |

The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town was my favorite sketch as a kid. I find the Two Ronnies pretty cheesy now but they've always had a special place in my heart from when I was a kid watching them on a Saturday night. I find it sad he's gone now.
