Jonathan Richman, Vic Chesnutt collaborate on tour

Singer/songwriters Jonathan Richman (tickets | music) and Vic Chesnutt (tickets | music) are set to team up on a brief tour of small clubs in late September and early October.

The duo--playing separate sets--will take the stage Sept. 30 in Denton, TX, and then play 11 additional shows over the following two weeks.
Richman, who gained widespread public attention following his role as musical narrator in the 1998 Farrelly Brothers' comedy "There's Something About Mary," was a founding member of the seminal new-wave group Modern Lovers in the early '70s. His most recent studio album was 2004's "Not So Much to Be Loved as to Love."

Chesnutt, a paraplegic since being injured in a car accident at 18, has attracted a cult following with a prolific string of solo albums over the last 15 years, including his latest, "Ghetto Bells," released last March.

I was all set to see him at the Detroit Bar and then I totally forgot about it. Nice.
