I MAY be selling my white 80's Contemporary Telecaster (as used by Black in the Pixies) since I'm not sure Nimrod's Son, the Pixies tribute thing I play/played for will get together again.
Anyone remotely interested? Would be about £200, no case, some cosmetic damage. They're pretty damn rare, even more so in the HH pickup config. It's about 20 years old!
Here's Frankie boy with his, back in the day:
Like I said, I'm not decided yet, but would give first dibs to my fellow FB/Pixies fans on here.

I could be interested! Only concern is the bridge... isn't it a pain to (have it) set-up? Would you accept paypal and shipping to Spain? |

Nah, the bridge is a breeze. The strings thread in the back like a Strat bridge, it's a great design, none of the crap you have to do with Floyd Rose bridges. The other models in the "Contemporary" series had horribly complicated and over the top bridges, we got lucky with this one. The action and intonation are also easy to tweak. I took off the locking nut and put a string tree on the B and E strings (like Black did) and it works great like that, even doing crazy bends with the whammy bar.
I'd include the locking nut anyways so you've got the choice, but I find it stays in tune perfectly without it, if you seat your strings properly. One other minor problem is that the bridge tuner (i.e, the tuner you use when the strings are locked at the nut) for the thick E is bent, because the dude who sold me the guitar didn't wind it into the bridge before shipping. Or maybe he bent it some other time during it's life. Either way, the tuner is still perfectly usable, just a bit bent.
I'd accept Paypal and would ship to Spain, but I'm not sure what shipping method I'd need to use. I'll look into it.
Like I said, I'm not definately selling it, but there's a good chance. If I do, I'll take a load of pictures detailing the cosmetic damage and anything else.

I also prefer used guitars, even with a few dings, at least I don't have to go through the 'first scratch on your brand new guitar' thing...
I just got myself a great G&L Asat, but if you're okay to sell it by the end of the month, I'm definitely in! |
