The Q&A thread reminded me of a ancient thread on another board, so here we have it: resurrected for the new millenium.
As you walk into the virtual pub, its still a quiet afternoon - the after-work rush hasn't started. The decor is dark and woody, but with the light streaming through the blind-covered windows, its pleasantly airy. The bar has a decent range of proper beers, some crazy continental ones too, and there's even some decent fat chips available.
Anyone fancy a drink?
How's that for a slice of fried gold? |

I think a nice half of Diet Coke, don't laugh. If I was in for a crazy night, I may kick out the generic Red Bull, but lets not go nuts.
I always have food in the pub as well, for some reason. A plate of bog ol' chips woulf go down a treat about now...

Maybe I shouldn't join you, as I just saw my friend from the North of England and

I prefer tables. Ones in corners, at the back of the pub, or perhaps by the window where the sun is beaming through the window.

The jukey has the same policy as the legendary Boogaloo in Highgate - nothing under ten years old. That pub was the inspiration for the Winchester in Shaun Of The Dead, by the way, now its Shane MacGowan's local.

Yep, this is a proper english pub. Stand at the bar and get it ya self.

and nevermind my North American friend here with her anti-britspeak bias. she's a tad knackered after the flight.
we'll be fine when we're bobbinsed.
(I do need to ask though...what does 'bag off' mean? is that a good thing?)
