count me in too. Me un perdador.
I got the Soy bit, even though i didn't understand it,
the rest I masked by pretending to itch my cheek and covering my mouth
until "I'M A LOSER BABY!" which i sang like i'd never sung before.

I'll have to go listen to it now, see if it makes perfect sense what he's saying.
I had the same thing with Letter to Memphis, is he singing about army crates and what!

fbc, I thank you for my first laugh of the day.

The best part of that song are the lines after "soy un perdedor,, I'm a loser baby so why don't you kill me?"

double-barrel buckshot

get crazy with the Cheeze Whiz

drive-by body pierce

yo, bring it on down

I can't believe you

sprechen sie Deutche, baby?

know what I'm sayin'?

I didn't know the "perdedor" thing 'til today. I never get lyrics in spanish. There must be something to do with the terrible pronunciation.

That's funny coming from you, Xavi. Did you realize that The Clash pretend to sing some lines in Spanish?

No, I didn't know that.

Even Dylan has a record in spanish, I think. A total crap from what I've heard.

I just clicked on the "Biological Chip In Your Cells" thread, thinking I would understand a word of it. What a loser.

I usually skip over every Owen thread, because I never understand anything.

And I like this guy, believe me. But it's too much for me.

The last time I felt like a loser was when I found out Carl had already asked my Witty Question.

As for "aluminum," don't the Brits actually spell it differently?

As with most things, the British spell it correctly.

I felt like a loser tonight: in the pub, a group of us were discussing our Loser status, and I came to the conclusion that I was being extra pathetic in order to elicit hugs from girls, which in turn made me all the more pathetic.

i think aluminum was the original word but there was an effort to make everything end in nium, which america decided to ignore. could be wrong.

America decides to ignore most things. It's what we're good at in addition to being imperialists, which the Brits ultimately sucked at.

he throws some spanish in there from time to time. i heard that Odelay, which is in the song Lord Only Knows, was originally "horale" (Mexican slang for "what's up?") but he started singing o delay as a joke because the album was delayed so long.. and changed the word

But they had an empire where the Sun never set! Can we say that about ours?

As for aluminum, I guess "aluminium" does make more sense, in a way.

If your talking about Spanish Bombs I'm pretty sure it's correct except for the ma corazon part should be mi. There's a funny little blurb in their box set about how they got that translation.

I vaguely remember something about how the song was written at someone's kitchen table with the help of the mom of the Spanish gf of one of the guys. Do you know about that?

The Clash on Broadway box set mentions how they heard in a cab a news report about Basque separatists bombing some beach and Joe told his gf that there should be a song called Spanish Bombs.

Yeah its in the Clash on Broadway set where they say they had to call I think one of the studio hands mothers who spoke something like a Guatamalean dialect of spanish and that was her translation. It's been years since I unearthed that thing and listened/looked to it and at it so I could be mistaken. In keeping with the thread it makes me feel like a loser that I haven't gave it a listen in so loooooooooooooooong a time.

I had this stupid argument with my friend yesterday at the pub about the nationality of those three scandinavian girls. I said that they were norwegian, he said swedish.

So I sat next to the girl to ask her and she just ran away from me! I tried to talk to her friend who was dancing and she ran away too! But I'm not a quitter and joined all my courage and went to talk at the last girl, who was ordering some drinks. "This one can't escape", I thought. But she just ignored me as I wasn't there.

What's up? Do I look like a fuckin' psycho? Fuck them!

Try speaking some Swedish to them, see if that works. I'm no help though: I'm such a loser that the only Swedish I know is 'stop it now' and 'belt up'.

about an hour ago when my housemate caught me crying at my mum down the phone

and just, when I rubbed my eye after using nasty chemical hair removal cream.

I'm sure if I had any in my eye it'd sting more than this though, that stuff stings enough just on skin. I put some water on the eye after and that stings more than anything else.
