Anything at all. And more than one, if you like.
Here's one of mine:
I make pottery. I especially love making porcelain, especially teacups so delicate you can see the light coming thru them.

I played lawn bowls when I was a teenager (for about three years).

I played piano to a reasonably high level until I fell out of practice.
How's that for a slice of fried gold? |

I make homemade soap. I have a notebook close to my bed where I write poetry at nights. And, believe it or not, I'm straight.

How does porcelain differ from other pottery? Doesn't it break easily if the light shines through it?

The make up of the clay (sand vs. glass content etc.) differs so it is, indeed, delicate. Porcelain breaks easily; it also takes different glaze; and (what I like best) makes for an entirely different tactile experience at the wheel - you need different skills compared with regular clay.

there's no way you'd be able to determine that it's exactly over a month's worth of facial hair. thus, my statement about myself falls within the criteria.

Floopie, I was wrong to have thought that you would misunderstand something. Here is your well-deserved apology, hon:

that means that my facial hair has reached, exactly, over one month's worth. so if you were to say, "i see you're growing a beard, how long has it been, 3 weeks?" you'd be grossly incorrect. same if you said, "seems like you've probably been growing that beard for over 2 months".. wrong. over 1 month. you brits have strange measuring systems. maybe that's why this is confusing?

but it could be one month and one second or one month and three weeks by your criteria, so it's not that exact, and possibly quite easy to say...."oh, is that over a month's worth of facial hair floop?"

well, apparently we have different systems of measurement. for me, whether it's one month and 1 second, or 1 month and 3 weeks, it's still "exactly over 1 month" .. then, later, it will move onto "exactly over 2 months" etc..
i presume you have a system you think is better? |

um, the point was that your system makes it much easier to guess by looking at you. Your system is fine though.

I have over 3 months of facial hair at the moment.
keep it going floop. I'd say it gets better, but it doesn't. Soon you'll be shampooing and conditioning and combing and wiping your face after every bite and washing it out in the sink after lunch, but that's the price you have to pay to look so cool.
EDIT: oh yea and you can't tell it's exactly over 3 months, yada yada yada. _____________________ Boy, you sure can holler. |
