Frank Black is one of the new celebs to add a playlist to iTunes. Thought you'd all like to know. They're all Burl Ives songs.

A Little Bitty Tear - Burl Ives
"Sad, but an upbeat sing-along. Good pre-rock and roll."

The Goat - Burl Ives
"A great children's song. The singer at one point has the poor beast tied to the railroad tracks waiting for the big splat. Not to fear, the goat gets away!"

Mr. Rabbit - Burl Ives
"'Every little soul must shine' says the song. The spiritual rabbit has ears that are 'put on wrong,' but he don't care. I get choked up when I hear this one."

Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair - Burl Ives
"A classic. And Burl delivers this kind of thing in a way that can only be described as haunting."

The Whale - Burl Ives
"A lovely melody in this. How can you not love a song that refers to that great city as 'San Francisco Town'?"

Goober Peas - Burl Ives
"Remember this one? It's got that military snare and a guitar line right out of a Jacques Tati movie. And you can hear Burl do that thing where he almost chuckles at the lyric but somehow holds it all together."

Wayfaring Stranger - Burl Ives
"Who say that a rendition of an old traditional has to go on and on and on? Burl is the master of in and out."

The Grey Goose - Burl Ives
"One of the many Burl titles that sound normal enough but then things get really weird. They just don't make 'em like this anymore."

The Long Black Veil - Burl Ives
"Murder, love, and execution. Oh, and Burl Ives, too."

Call Me Mr. In-Between - Burl Ives
"Rock and rollers don't have a monopoly on sexual frustration, ya know."

The Same Old Hurt (Single) - Burl Ives
"Good piano on this one. There might have been a bottle at the session."

Funny Way of Laughing - Burl Ives
"Burl as the angry young man. Pissed actually."

Wild Side of Life (Single) - Burl Ives
"Not exactly in a Lou Reed kind of way, but hey, there is a saxophone."

Lavender Blue (Dilly Dilly) - Burl Ives
"This is a song that makes your realize what great diction Burl Ives had, WITHOUT making the number feel awkward. Delicato."

Buckeye Jim - Burl Ives
"This song makes me want to get into my cowboy and Indian pajamas and dream of a life on the run."

open iTunes music store. about 2/3 way down on the left, you should see "Celebrity Playlists" and click on that. you should be able to see it then (and listen to the samples of the Burl tunes).
