The latest from these guys:
We're finished with the Pixies epic run through Europe, and are working hard to mix and master those eight recordings in our studio right now. Many of the discs from that leg of the tour are selling fast. Consider yourself warned that it looks like Manchester and London will be sell-outs. And the Newport Folk Festival Acoustic Peformance will sell out soon too. Don't miss that, it's an amazing recording of an intimate and unique performance.
We have also put up four new Pixies North American dates for sale.
Know any Japaneese? We sure as heck don't, but we bought our Berlitz guide, because we're headed to Asia! The Show will be there to record all the Pixies performances throughout Japan in December. Stay tuned for more details on that. If you didn't order one of our exclusive tees when you ordered your discs, here's second chance. These are not available at the shows or anywhere else for that matter.
The Contest
October 1st will be a milestone for The Show. It will be the first time we record two shows in two seperate places on the same evening! The Pixies at Keyspan Park in Brooklyn, New York and Dead Can Dance at Massey Hall in Toronto. To mark that night here's what we'll do... We have two sets of The Show promo posters. Each set includes a Pixies one signed by the band and another, DCD one signed by Brendan and Lisa. We'll randomly choose one person who purchases both of the October 1st shows and send him/her a set. We'll choose the second winner from everyone who sends a photo of themselves with some Pixies and Dead Can Dance stuff. Tees, records, photos etc. Send the pix to contest at theshowlive dot com.

Hey PixiesDisc.com person, I have not received my copy of the Pixies show in Milwaukee, back on July 7. I'm assuming they have been mailed out already. Were they mailed with tracking numbers or anything like that? I can be e-mailed through my profile on frankblack.net. thanks, matt |

I received Newport in the mail yesterday. # 209. What a great show. I think that is the best version of Monkey I've heard in years and Kim with backing vocal on All Around the World is great. The fact that they just through that in there and FB didn't say a word about was perfect. Kudo's Pixes and kudo's Theshow. Oh, bye the way the new packaging is very nice.

I'm happy to say I received the Milwaukee show in the mail today. Also included was a copy of a show in Cleveland. Thank you Pixiesdisc/TheShow!

I received the Newport acoustic show yesterday, as well as the Cleveland 'special performance' as a bonus. Incredible but true, the Newport setlist includes 'All Around the World' - one of the 5 songs that were left off Honeycomb

Can we discuss the bonus Cleveland disc. What is that about? Anybody know? I appreciate pixiesdiscs' generosity and am curious as to why they chose that particular show and whether that is the complete show. Anybody?

My assumption has been that Cleveland was from some sort of minifestival for the Hall of Fame, and that it entails their entire abbreviated performance there. Nice get for the pixiesdiscs folks to package it with all the US orders. Makes me curious about whether the European shows will also include it or something similarly welcome. I remember passing mention of this performance round about when it occurred. Did anybody here see it? |

I received a copy of the Cleveland show, on the spot, when I purchased an Ally Pally disc.
Sounds quality/mix is noticeably better than the DiscLive shows. |

Thats a good british philosophy!! I was under the impression the Post Office had a vendetta against me for being rude to a posty once, but maybe they just hate us all.

Still waiting here in Republic of Ireland. Thought it had went missing but, it seems I'm not the only one waiting. Fingers crossed. Just heard it was only a single disk. Now I'll have a box for my newport CD!

My Newport show CD arrived today, so keep the faith comrades. It looks like it was sent from the US via Sweden, so it could have been held up by majestic møøse herders.
Sounds great. |

Got my Newport CD this morning too. Wonder if it coming through Sweden was for Customs reasons. Anyway, looking forward to listening.

I got my Newport disc about a week ago (#999 of 1000!). That was a cool show! I liked 'Been All Around the World.' So, was that song a Frank original that was not included on Honeycomb? It isn't a cover? It just seems so familiar to me already. I may order another show...any suggestions on which to choose? |

Got my Euro discs today. I hadn't known what to get so I ordered PixiesDiscs "best three" 2005 European shows. FYI, they selected the Aug 25 Paris, Aug 30 Manchester, & Aug 31 London shows, and included the June 8 Cleveland disc. Haven't listened to any of them yet. Though they were only choosing from eight shows, any opinions on their selection? |

I can't even remember what shows I've ordered. I had one or two I think from DiscLive? and never saw them, and then one I downloaded of the show I went to in dallas from pixiesmusic.com?
anyone know what happened to the disclive thing?
