Everything Brian Wilson has ever written (well, MOST of it), especially "Roll Plymouth Rock" and "Wind Chimes" (not that those are my two favourite songs of his, just the songs I wish I had written the most. Also "Matilda Mother" by Syd Barrett.

i don't so much as wish i had written anyone elses song but "keeping in time" by Charles Thompson
made me realise how song writing is sorta simple yet not at all easy, that gets under my skin a bit.
