Hello
Can anyone help me out with a Breeders question? I got Title TK the other day and was amazed to hear that the Son of Three song is a SLOW version unlike the video for the song. Does anyone know where I can get the video version (fast one). Is it perhaps on the Son of Three single?
Thanks all |

it is. The single version is better IMO. And if you get the EP, you get 2 kick-ass b-sides: a great live version o Safari and a cover of the Buffy theme!

... a cover of the Buffy theme? hmm hmm... was time to reform the Pixies indeed.
The Best B-side ever is Cro-Aloha!!! Have you heard the 10 minutes version? Really great though it is IMO a subtle montage from a so called bootleg from the net....

Another Breeders question: What the f*** is "full on idle" doing on title TK?? They released this avarage song already with the Amps five years earlier, and they hardly changed anything to it. It ruins Title TK completely. |

Are you this kind of guy who prefers the Catholics version of The man who was too loud rather than the "original" one????

What ruined the album is it's inability to rock. So many songs started with the promise of rocking out, but never did. It maybe that i felt tricked by the selection of Huffer as the first single, since it did rock, but nothing else did. |

I wouldn't go so far as to say the album is ruined by having a new version of Full On Idle. I do prefer the AMPS version, myself. I think TitleTK is fantastic, and really don't feel it needs to rock out. The mood is completely different than Last Splash, and thankfully so. It is a perfect summer album, as I find myself favoring it during the hot months. Last Splash is great during the colder months. I don't know why, but thats the way they fit for me. Pod can be listened to anytime.

My problem with the Full on Idle reprise is not the song itself. I probably like both versions as much.
What bothers me is having the very same song on two consecutive regular studio albums, which forces you to hear that song twice as much as any other song, whether you like it or not. And in the end you won't, because you can't stand it anymore. Even Vamos hardly gets away with this problem. The same goes for the Beach Boys' Help me R(h)onda, and Weezer's Island in the Sun.
The only ones that got away with it are the Ramones with Sheena is a Punk Rocker. It appeared on Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, but you hardly can tell, because all their songs sound the same anyway :)
