It is, really. It includes my favorite versions of 'The Man Who Was Too Loud' and 'Sister Isabel' (great intro).

Frank said he wanted to give that intro an AC/DC loudness, and, imho, he succeeded.

Spend that fiver, Marsist. Worth it.

Seconded. It's great. And to think, I only bought it to make sure that the guy behind the counter in HMV didn't mistake me for an Eagles fan!

Often use the version of "Handyman" it features on mix cds....

fantastic Ep... Great songs and covers... Teenage Fan club sounds like a perfect back-up band... Totally in tune with Frank Black style. Probably the best thing they released...

The version of The Man who was too loud is according to me much better than the Catholics' one.

It's been in my local virgin for about two weeks, it's €10, and they're trying to sell SMYT for 26. I need to move.

Do you ever read signatures thinking they're part of an actual post?
I find it really annoying

thanks for the update
what do you think of it? especially the man who was too loud.
slightly different to the original but good stuff yeah?

i love how they slow it down completely at the "i will play softly..." part
And any EP including 'Handyman' is worth a listen
well worth the money
happy for you, marsist

Jacques Tati is cool. I'd have to take another listen, but the version on Live In Paris is probably better!!

I agree with Frog. Peel Sessions version of The Man Who Was Too Loud is two billion times better than on the Frank Black and the Catholics LP.

My fave song on that is Handyman. Very first listen I thought is was a karma chameleon cover! Heh, just kidding. I heard the original Handyman (Donovan? I cant remember who it was) in my local Fopp store the other day, was strange to hear it in a very different way, it almost felt as if it was the cover version i was hearing! Teenage Fanclub are great, Id love it if they and Frank did more collaborations. I saw them a month back, great live band. Also they are supporting the Pixies in Edinburgh :) Cant wait!! Any chance of an encore with the Fannies, all of you doing Here Comes Your Man and Handyman??!! Anyone going to this show?!

Y'know, I did'nt think about that. They're supporting them in Dublin, too. Would'nt it be cool if TF joined them for a rendition of a Peel Session song?! :D
