That's cool Rich... Thanks for keeping us in the loop!
If you end up adding dates and maybe coming to Minneapolis possibly after Milwaukee I know a group of FB.net'ers that would love to see ya!! I won't be able to make show the 22-25 b/c of Lolla... but I know other people should be in town.
Otherwise have a super tour! |

Hey Duke of Fenders, thanks for posting your tour with Caitlin Cary and Thad Cockrell.
I read this article in The Nashville Scene this week concerning Caitlin and Thad (their section begins halfway down). Good picture of the two of them. I missed the June 16th show at the Mercy Lounge, but I'll definitely check-out the July 30th show at the Grand Ole Opry Plaza.
http://nashvillescene.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?story=This_Week:Arts:Music "Co-produced in Nashville with Brad Jones, Cary and Cockrell's "BEGONIAS" has similarly individual strengths. Cary is developing into her generation's Emmylou Harris, a gentle yet determined woman who began in partnership with a firecracker, Ryan Adams, yet who has evolved into a steadily burning flame within Americana circles..."
[EDIT: Thanks for the heads-up Kathryn ] |

Aaww... Rich Gilbert and Caitlin Cary. Thats so cool! Would love to see that. Caitlin had a gig in Berlin recently with the "Tres Chicas". What a nice concert that was. And now the flavour of Richs guitar is added to her voice and violin. That should be really amazing. No european dates this time though...
Can we hope for a recording of some kind? |

Hey Duke of Fender,
I'm sure you've had a good tour with Caitlin Cary and Thadd Cockrell. I've been looking forward to your show Saturday night at the Opry Plaza (July 30th), however, I was recently reminded by our out-of-town houseguest (Brother-in-law, Wife, 2 kids) that the wedding is Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. So, unless I can excuse myself for a couple of hours, I won't be able to attend your show. My loss of course.
Anyway, good to get you back home here in Guitar Town and we look forward to your upcoming shows and studio work with Joshua Black Wilkins.
CoffeeCan.
p.s. oh yeah, check it out, http://americanamusic.org/php/index_wide.php?content=conference The Man's gonna be there, doin' a Honeycomb set at The Cannery Ballroom
[edit: I see where Caitlyn and Thad will be playing this AMA Conference gig.

Hey Duke, So, how was your tour with Caitlin and Thad? I see they (and you also I presume) will be playing Friday, September 9th at The Basement at Midnight as part of the AMA Showcase. And, what else is going on with you? Let us know when you get a chance. CoffeeCan.

Rich Gilbert and Frank Black in the space of two days? don't you think that's a little bit selfish?
some of us don't even get to go once. |
