I cried whilst looking at my ex once. She was just sat listening to music, she seemed to have drifted off somewhere. It wasn't much, just one tear really. Beauty overcomes me sometimes.
Looking back, I think that was pretty romantic.
Perhaps if I had the guts to finish a song about her, that would be the most romantic thing.

My ex liked cats, he loved them and as often as I could I would leave a little kitty card on his door in the shared house we lived in with a little poem I wrote or just to tell him I cared, on my days off I'd leave gifts of roses and wine and chocolate and toys, if I ever washed his clothes I'd leave my poems in the pockets, I stiched him a king sized patchwork quilt entirely of paisley material when we were apart, I made him a mix cd and every night we slept together I would stroke his back and hold him close until we were asleep. just wasn't enough. I'm currently writing a poem for a girl. But I don't have nothing sexual going on with her, so it shouldn't count.

I've always been terrified to express my feelings for a guy. So I was nervous when I did this. My bf and I had just started seeing each other and he had to go away for work for 6 weeks and the morning after he returned I snuck out of bed at dawn and went outside and cut flowers and put them all over the bed. When he woke up he was delighted to see them and when we made love he told me for the first time that he loved me. Sigh.

I wrote two records (not Frank Black quality obviously) about her one sad (because she didn't want to be with me) one happy (because I had finally won her over!)
funny note that the girl contributed piano to the sad one and was my already my girlfriend when it was finally finished
she writes me funny poems constantly I love that

when i was with my last girlfriend i was picking up food for the both of us to bring back to her house and enjoy a romantic dinner alone. without even asking (and unconcerned about the extra expense) i opted to supersize hers. |

the most romantic thing he ever did was on the day I had an accident at work, I was fixing a femoral head in formaldehyde and because I'm a bit short the cabinet was a bit high for me, I managed to bounce formaldehyde of this bloody hip and into my eyes. I was held upside down in a scrub sink and had my eyes washed out but they decided they had to take me to the eye hospital for a check up, on the other side of Oxford. I phoned him to tell him and one of the nurses drove me down, I was there for a while (I think wearing scrubs, it was january/february time and there was a massive rainstorm outside, I was very cold) and they examined my eyes, put some sort of (I assume because it was brown) iodine dye in my eyes and gave me the all clear. I left the hospital in the rain with no mobile phone (I never took it to work) and no money, walked to the university college my friend was living at had a coffee in my soaking wet clothes and borrowed the bus fare home. When I got home I had thirty odd missed calls from him and he'd been out and fetched and prepared me a huge meal for when I got back, he made carrot and coriander soup for starter, a carbonara for mains (all from scratch) and for dessert chocolate angel delight with magic lucky stars shaped in a smiley face on top. He helped me dry off and fussed and hugged and fed me up because he was so worried. There have been bigger gestures over the years but this always will be the best for me, the heart was 100% there.

Is a supersize meal more or less romantic than being taken to pizza huts buffet lunch for valentines day*?
*true story, told a patient about this once and he was disgusted, said he'd of at least taken me to gourmet pizza, I get all the good 'uns me.

F**k. I need to learn to cook.
Most romantic thing I ever did was the fabled "houdini move". Now that is romance.

I'd consider it romantic if my girlfriend took me to the Pizza Hut lunch buffet, since she doesn't like Pizza Hut and I love it. It would be a sacrifice of love, or something.

I'm not sure it's all that romantic, but I guess I'm not a big romantic gestures person though I would call myself a romantic, if that makse any sense. Anyway, my ex was off in Mexico and I snuck into her house while the family was gone with a bunch of glow in the dark stars I'd bought months earlier in Edmonton... like a LOT of Stars, I think 40 dollars worth. We always talked about having a house and a fibreoptic ceiling with stars because we both love them and have spent many an evening stargazing, so it wasn't totally random. Anyway, I spent 9 hours straight craning my neck filling her ceiling with constellations and other stars (there were so many that the constellations became hard to see sadly) as well as a little star graffiti (dk heart __). When she got in that evening I brought her into her room and then turned out the lights after having her lay on the bed and her reaction was worth it. Then we lay under the "stars" with each other, cheesy as it is...
I also didn't break wind in front of her once... so it's a draw.

When I was in High school, I was going out with this guy named Dylan. My first everything...Love, Kiss(well real kiss), ....UHEM. and so on. We had been going out for about a year and a bit and I was just about to move to Barbados. To wish me farewell, Dylan and my best friend Eric came to my house and we slept on a mattress in the garage (side by side by side) for a couple hours until it was finally time to go. It started to rain just as Dylan's parents came to pick them up. My tear ducts followed suit. Maybe about an hour later we left for the airport. Dylan's house just happened to be ,sort of, on the way to the airport. So at the nearest Red light, I lept from the car and ran as fast as I could until I reached his doorstep. I had to taste his lips once more so the memory could linger longer.
Maybe not the most romantic thing but still pretty good for a 15 year old.

i was dating this girl who i was in love with and stuff and she used to have to get up really early for her job. and despite not being a morning person (i'm reeeally not a morning person) i used to get up with her and make her breakfast and coffee (like, every time) and walk her out to her car. then i'd go back to bed
belive me, for me to be functioning that early in the morning for someone is romantic |

m'lady always says that i've done a few really nice things for her, and i'm trying to remember them:
the one she always brings up is when i was seeing weezer and she couldn't make it i called her during 'say it ain't so' (her favorite song) and played it for her over the phone. i don't think its all that romantic, but she swooned
when she was living in california, i once sent her flowers for absolutely no reason with a note that said something like 'sometimes saying i love you just isn't enough' - that got all the boyfriends of the people she was living with in trouble actually, ha ha
and there have been numerous times when she's been sick and i've taken care of her - changing her into warmer clothes, making soup of her, taking her temperature, etc.
as for what she's done for me, there are a few - this past valentine's day she made a little scavenger hunt through my house, when i had to find clues and go and seek out the next one, with little poems and giftst throughout the apartment. that was cute
but the most romantic thing is just how she always scratches my back and just does little every day things for me. that may sound boring, but its not - its great
-Brian

Hmmmm this thread is making me think I have to remind some things to Mike... I mean really, if you're going to open mouth kiss me at least finish chewing your food...hehe.
He does things like give me massages, run out to get me snacks and help with everything from around the house and kids but I think I'm craving something romantic. Especially in my present state, I'm all big and bloated.

I think the most romantic thing I ever did was send someone something I had written about him for his birthday. It only took 8 months to marinate and now we are "dating" or something. He brings "that poem" up ALL THE TIME, so I guess it worked/was romantic.
