I'll start: even when it's quite similar to the album title, it isn't the most important line of the record, or even the song, but I can't avoid singing when I hear it.

I'll say "and someday we will die and our ashes will fly". I just adore that song, and I love songs/albums that can infuse such joy into such sad songs. Like Funeral (Arcade Fire).

"Can I have some time alone? Can I have some time alone?" Best part of that most singable song. And the story of my life.

always thought it was " time I had some time alone..."
i mean, it is (It’s time I had some time alone)
not to be nit picky...you know.
Its REM, though.
I always must sing "Into the mountain, I WILL FALL."
as well as every REM song of course.

KSR, I humbly submit that that's the correct lyric. For years, I walked around work surrounded by 70 stressed-out people who urgently needed something from me - and the only thing that kept me sane was singing that line in my head.
Frank lyrics you can't help singing are a whole other thread, man.

Thank you for that, Toba. Feel free to post his pic in the Pix of Beautiful Men thread. I'm more into early REM Peter Buck.

I like the "Out of Time" Stipe. As Tre does, I guess.

Young tortured reckoning stipe was beautiful, but I've been listening to reckoning recently so thats probably why.

Country feedback for which I always sing the I was central I had control I lost my head I need this I need this
gosh I have to check the others |

Don't try to butter me up, kittie, after your assessment of "Now my heart is full," one of the most chock-full-of-singable-lyrics songs from one of the most singable albums.

so tell me how it is that Mr M manages to make the worst aspects of human paranoia and vocalise them in such away that if you sit and think about it you may not want to get out of bed the next day, not that there's anything wrong in that you understand but:
If you're so funny Then why are you on your own tonight ? And if you're so clever Then why are you on your own tonight ? If you're so very entertaining Then why are you on your own tonight ? If you're so very good-looking Why do you sleep alone tonight ?
totally ruined my friday.
(sorry about the thread Xavi, I started well.....)
[edit] damn straight Toba, catch me in the wrong mood and I'll be sat moping out the window nursing a coffee and an ashtray crying that lyric like a moron, being a girl is GREAT! |

Oh, Xavi, get in the Morrissey mood, won't you? Pull the shades against that cheerful sunshine, hang you head, and listen to the sad lyrics. Then think about ending it all.

Xavi, I tried to respect your thread and not post a bazillion Morrissey lyrics, but Tre is taunting me...
