50 Foot Wave will be playing an in-store tonight, Saturday June 4th, at CD World in Eugene, Oregon... simply because they're on their way to Portland and they're bored :-) The in-store is at 7pm, it's free and they're playing a full set. Call CD World at 541-683-6902 for more info.
I just wanted to spread the word..

A friend and I arrived at CD World a little before 7 and hung around while Bernard, Rob, and Kristin's husband/manager set up sound equipment. After an hour or so, the band started; they played (not in this order) Bug, Clara Bow, Long Painting, Dog Days, Bone China, Pneuma, Sally Is A Girl, and Golden Ocean. There were roughly 15 people there (not counting the band/entourage, store employees, or the few that perused the CD racks during the performance), and chips and a case of imported beer were made available to anyone willing. After the performance, I grabbed my borrowed copy of the new album and proceeded to hang out with the band and a few fans for several minutes. Not long after the band signed my borrowed copy of the new album, I briefly chatted with Kristin about the Volcano Suns, an obscure Mission of Burma offshoot for which Kristin and I share a deep fondness. I had a great time - thanks again, EnglishGeezer. |
