i've been tempted on numerous occasion to karaoke a pixies song in a public bar. objectively speaking, i think i would do a pretty good job. knowing the words wont be an issue. normally karaoke is not meant to be taken seriously. thats why i sing "Bette Davis Eyes" or "Invisible Touch" by phil collins every chance i get. but singing a pixies song would be no joke. is this a bad idea??? be honest

"Where Is My Mind?" is the only Pixies I've ever seen on karaoke (it's a pretty good version, too). Have you seen any others?

In the past I've looked for Pixies songs in the karaoke katalogs, but to no avail. George42, if you come across one, go for it! If your willing to get up in front of 17 people who are half if not totally drunk and sing, who gives a fuck WHAT you sing? Get on up there boy and do your best Black Francis! I'm sure the people would love it!

i can do a pretty good 'i've been tired'.
i've seen Wave, Here Comes Your Man, WIMM?, and Debaser in the catalogs.
there is one place i know of that allows you to bring in your own CDs...they mute the vocals and give you a stage and a mic and let you go for it.
i might bring in a live pixies cd and blast out gouge away.
people who don't like to sing/karaoke in general are no fun.

There's a place my friends and I go roughly every Wednesday for karaoke. I just found out they have Monkey Gone To Heaven. It's not listed, but they have it. I don't want to do it. I don't feel comfortable singing unless I have an instrument in my hands. The only time I do sing at karaoke is when I'm obviously goofing around. I wouldn't do that to a Pixies song.
