Hey gang..
Working on getting my guitar rig back together. I had quit playing out for a few years, and sold off a lot of equipment. I've got my distortion/ OD bases covered, but I really need a great sounding delay pedal.
I've checked out the Visual Sound H20, Guyaton MD-3, Memory Man Deluxe, and the Boss DD-3, and DD-5. All are contenders, but I'm wondering if any of you guys have any ideas??
Anyone know what Joey Santiago, or the various boys in the Catholics used. Those are pretty much the sounds I'm trying to hit.
Thanks!

I use a Boss DSD-3, it's good for everything I use it for - I particularly like when you turn the feedback all the way up and get that infinitely repeating oscilation type sound. I haven't used many other delay pedals to compare, but the memory man is excellent if you like analog delay, you can listen to samples on EHX website if you haven't already - http://www.ehx.com/ehx2/Default.asp?q=f&f=%2FCatalog%2F09_Reverb_%26_Delay%2F14_Deluxe_Memory_Man. I would say get the memory man as every EHX pedal I've bought I've loved (though I don't own a memory man myself).

Boss seems to be the popular choice. |

Seconded. This one is superb. It also loops and doubles up as a toastie maker.

It's been said that digital delay sounds 'better' than analogue, but it depends on the effect you want to achieve. Analogue delay pedals have a cool sound. I can't think of a pedal to recommend, I've only had one in my time. Boss are pretty reputable, though. |
