DG, how do you know it's a great review if you haven't read it? i'm not reading it, just like i'm not reading this thread anymore in case someone posts a spoiler, in fact i'm not reading anymore star wars threads until after may 19. |

All my Star Wars threads will be spoiler free under threat of willy-nilly-style banishment. :)

As an utterly selfless sacrifice I've read the review and can confirm it is a good one and might even have convinced me to see the film at the cinema (without having to be dragged kicking and screaming). |

Okay. I'm really not a fan of the last two films (like everyone else on the planet), but I will go see SITH, however I will not read any review because I know its going to be subpar PERIOD. But why are people so horrified upon seeing the 'SPOILER' warnings? First off, the novelization has been on the shelf for a couple weeks now. Second, I know the soundtrack is out, and all one has to do is read the cues for a spoil. And finally, what can POSSIBLY happen in this film that doesn't lead into where the characters ultimately stand in STAR WARS EP. 4? It's not like anyone can die (except maybe Amidala and most likely Dooku). It's like putting a 'SPOILER' label on a high school history book cover!!!

Well, Shine... I have this thing... it's called esp
My friend also told me when I asked how it stacked up the other films... he said it wasn't as good as Empire. (Which I think is the best, too) but it is the best of the three newer ones that have come out. |

Yes, we should start a new thread. But in any case, I'm going to see The Force Awakens in IMAX on Thursday morning! |

Shit, just following on from what I posted in the 'What Is Your Job' thread about missing people from here... I saw this thread and though "Wow, Daisy Girl started a thread about the new Star Wars movie, awesome!"
Then clicked and realised it was 10 years old. Damn.
I think I just want my teenage years back. I'm 26 now and life is pretty pretty average! But being 16 and discovering there's a whole forum of people to obsess over my favourite musician with, those were exciting times!
On topic, I don't think I'll be seeing the new Star Wars until a few weeks into the new year. I reckon it's gonna be tough to avoid spoilers for a few weeks though.

Same here. But being member since 2005 and making 11 posts so far, gives me a good average of one post per year!
Happy forthcoming 2016 to everyone. Shine on.
btw, where are Daisy Girl and apl4eris? |

Oh, and on the occasion of my 10-year-celebration: shineoftheever, are you interested in having the secret revealed which forum member is behind your alter ego shineofthenever? |

Force Awakens was pretty great. Oh, and a happy 2016 to you too, Shiner (and everyone else, of course). "The island of Phoenix, in 2016..." |

Pros and cons Pros, Rey (the lead actor) and the Millennium Falcon (the old hot rod space ship) and a shit ton of special effect charged chase scenes. Cons, the main bad guy (and the film itself) shows its hand. Can he/it live up to the original? Plenty of room to keep trying. Dig for fire

Agreed on the pros, danjersey. I'd add that Harrison Ford was fantastic. So was BB-8.

I hear ya, Stu -- Daisy Girl, 10 years younger, forum of FB freaks. Those were good times. I drop by here now and then to see if it's all still here. Do you still listen much to FB/BF/P's?

Hey coastline, yeah I still listen to my fair share of FB related stuff. I find myself listening to the Catholics the most these days. My taste in music is pretty much the same as it was 10 years ago. How about you?
