OK, I have been mulling over this idea for a few days now, and have decided to give it a shot.
The idea is for us to write an official song for the forum.
Firstly I need to know who is interested. You don't need to be able to play an instrument, though it would help to at least know what different notes sound like.
When I have a list of participants, we can then start the voting process. Firstly we will vote on how many chords in the verse, then in the chorus (our song will not have an intro, outro or solos for now, to keep things simple). When we have done this, we will vote on the first chord of the verse, then the second and so on. We will then do this for the chorus. When all the chords are written we will work on the lyrics, and this is where it should get really fun.
OK, so firstly, who fancies being a part of not only forum history but rock 'n' roll history? The cut-off point for entrants is Saturday 14th May.

I forgot to mention that when it is completed, there may be a second stage where forum members can record their versions and stick them on here. That's what I'm aiming for anyway.

Not to sound contrarian, but shouldn't Frank be
the singer of the official forum song? We could
write it and submit it to him and then he could
debut it at a forum-only concert, nice and intimate,
Catholics-stylee? Just a thought.

Haha, cool guys. I have no idea if this will work out or not either, but it should be fun trying. You don't really have to know too much about music to be in, and it's fine if you wanna just help with the lyrics (perhaps even the cover art one day?).

hey homers - just a suggestion. how about just make it open to everyone and scrap a cut off point? simply because it'll probably be hard to stop non-participants making suggestions or joining in votes if they suddenly become interested - and what if the suggestions are good? it would be a shame to ignore them.
